We absolutely loved our stay at The Horse Gin.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Horse Gin. The accommodation is gorgeous and was spotlessly clean. It had everything you could want for a wonderful stay. We visited with our two dogs and they loved the space to chase a ball in the field outside the house. The garden is stunning with places to sit and take in the views and a pond to feed the ducks. Lindsey and Jonny were friendly, welcoming hosts and the home-made cake was very welcome after a long drive. The location is great for visiting both North and South Devon. The beaches on the North coast are beautiful and the scenery is stunning. The pub in Witheridge village serves great food and is very dog friendly. We are definitely planning a return visit. We hadn't been to Devon for a long time and fell in love with it all over again.

Excellent cottage fitted out to a very high standard with everything you could wish for. It is also set in lovely grounds with a large lake and is a very pet friendly environment. We loved it and would certainly recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at the Horse Gin for a long weekend in November.

We stayed at the Horse Gin for a long weekend in November. The cottage was stunning inside, clearly with no expense spared on the standard of finish throughout. We stayed with 2 dogs who absolutely loved the area, walking straight out of the cottage into empty country road with fields and streams everywhere. The lake on site was great too and both our dogs loved an early morning swim whilst we walked round it. The location is great if you just want to relax and get away from it all, with some local villages 5-10 minutes drive away and Tiverton 20 minutes away. The hosts Jonny and Lindsey were very friendly, made sure to come and see us on our first morning and were always approachable and happy to chat and get to know us. We got to the cottage late on a Friday to find homemade brownies and a bottle of red wine waiting for us which was a great touch and made us feel welcome from the start. The bed was really comfortable and we had great sleep, with the cottage itself also being cosy and relaxing with a log burner in the living area which we used on 2 nights. A few board games were also in the cottage alongside a selection of DVDs. Overall I couldn't recommend this cottage highly enough and the value for money is great, I cant think of a single negative point and we cant wait to come back in the near future!

Enjoyable Stay

We had a very enjoyable four nights and were sorry that we had to leave. The accommodation was as advertised, very clean and spacious and we had a very warm welcome when we arrived. You definitely need a car and there are some good pubs nearby. We would recommend this accommodation.

Excellent comfortable cottage credit to the friendly owners where nothing was too much trouble. Great location for exploring north and south Devon. The cottage has everything thing you need comfortable beds spacious rooms and modern bathroom. Even the little touches like welcome pack a bottle of wine nibbles and a Homemade Courgette and Lemon drizzle cake. Our dogs enjoyed a morning stroll around the lake and grounds it was also nice to sit and feed the fish in the afternoon sunshine. The nearest village 3 miles away as a pub shop and a fish and chip van every Friday outside the school I would recommend.Keep up the hard work Lindsey & Jonny.

Such a beautiful cottage and genuinely lovely hosts in Lyndsey and Jonny. Our stay at Horse Gin cottage was so relaxing and enjoyable with lovely country walks with our labradors or sitting around the lake enjoying the scenery. The homemade Victoria sponge and treats for the dogs on arrival were just a couple of the extra touches which added to a lovely stay. Can’t wait for the next visit.

A stunning accommodation of the highest standard. The garden was an added bonus it was a beautiful place to sit by the lake and we even had a meal on one of the picnic benches. Would recommend a visit.

Very luxurious property converted to a high standard. The owners were most welcoming & left a lovely batch of goodies for our arrival which was much appreciated. We have stayed in many very good properties but Horse Gin is most definitely at the 'top'

We have just returned home from a wonderful weekend stay at Horse Gin! The cottage is just beautiful, and everything you could think of comes included inside- we were even left a cream tea, bottle of wine and crisps which was a lovely welcome! Lindsey and Jonny were so welcoming and friendly, and were happy to help at anytime. Even when we needed a tiny screwdriver for our sons new toy, they were on hand to help. We were sad to leave after 3 nights and are definitely considering sneaking another stay in soon!
