The room was fine, but the hotel was basically unmanned. We had to speak to the staff via an intercom system which they were able to let us in to the lobby.
We travelled a fair bit that day and looked forward to a good meal, but the premises looked like a ghost town. No staff, doors opened randomly to different rooms other than suites, and the restaurant and bar were permanently closed. Expedia did not mention this and I’m assuming that the hotel did not advise Expedia of this. The parking lot was almost empty and we say perhaps two other people which I’m not sure if they were guests or not. Really disappointed, especially after a long day to have to drive to a town to get take out fast food.

"The room was clean, if a little dated. The staff were very helpful, the breakfast was lovely, and dinner at the bar was also great. The beer was reasonably priced for a hotel too!"

"Upon arrival at malmaison we were ushered up to the front of the hotel were our car was then parked for us, leaving us to take our bags and check in. On entering Malmaison you are struck immediately with how much work has gone into redesigning the prison into the hotel it has now become, check in ..."

"Not Cotswold picturesque. Staff helpful, room okay cleanliness but furniture tired and needs updating. Breakfast buffet not well stocked, ran out of hot food, drinking glasses and very slow to replace, tables left with dirty plates cutlery etc and not cleared for next guests"
