"We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland. Matthew is a wonderful host, and we felt welcome in his home. The breakfast offerings were top notch, and our room and bed were so comfortable. The location was perfect for a day trip to nearby Oban, which should not be missed, particularly for the seafood and Oban Distillery tour. Thank you Matthew for the opportunity to stay; we will long...

"The darling couple who own and run the B&B are extremely delightful. Our hostess started us off in the morning with a delightful breakfast, good cup of coffee and good advice or directions to our days activities. She made sure we enjoyed ourselves. The bonus was the view from the property was gorgeous."

"Convenient and lovely location with a dynamite staff, and wonderful restaurant and bakery. We loved the breakfast and pastries.
The carpet was a little tired but the cha made up for any shortcomings due to property age."

"Due to a change in circumstances we had to book a hotel in Oban at short notice. The Scott was one of the few hotels that had a room available for one night.
The hotel is located on the main road as you drive into town. The traffic was a little noisy up until 9pm It has parking at the back of the hotel at a cost of £10 for 24 hours. Booking in was easy as the receptionist had all our information at hand and informed us of breakfast availability and location of the room. The room was large, warm, clean and tidy. The bed was a super king size and very comfortable. Shower was powerful and plenty of hot water, large fluffy towels.
Quick check out available in the morning. We didn’t have the breakfast.
I would recommend the Scott hotel for location, parking, huge bed and friendly service."
"The people were great, the owners were darling. The place could use a decorator - the decor was chaotic. Offerings limited. Overall, enjoyed our stay. We met fun people in the bar and had a really nice evening, but if not for that, it would have been kind of meh. The setting was gorgeous though."
"Reception was great and very helpful. Room was exceptionally well appointed. Stay was very enjoyable. Restaurant staff was very helpful. Would recommend to anyone."
"Pulling up and parking at the property was probably a good indication of what to expect. It was very untidy in this area. Reception was good but our room was not what I expected. It was very disappointing and I made this known to the Manager at Reception. He advised this was the room that I booked but I would not have booked a room like this. It was shabby but he had nothing else"
"The updates to this property are well considered from the wonderful spacious shower to the king size bed. Food at the restaurant is well above average. The duck and the lamb were excellent."
