We booked this hotel for one night while on the road, because of its location (the only one in the vicinity) and online info. Getting to it requires driving about 30km on a gravel road. The view of the Snaefelsnes Peninsula across the bay is spectacular, but from the hotel it is obstructed somewhat by a farmhouse that I presume belongs to the hotel owners. There is absolutely nothing else in the vicinity of the hotel. The room was a good size with comfortable beds, but too hot with no way to control the temperature, making sleeping difficult. Soap and shampoo were not provided.
We ate dinner in the restaurant (nothing else around). We were offered these choices: salad, an entree of either fish or lamb, and a dessert. The server was uninformed, didn't know what kind of fish it was (turned out to be arctic char). We decided to have salad and entrees. Even with just 2 choices, the server got our order wrong - forgot the salad, so we told him to bring it after the entrees, at which point they had run out of salad. On the plus side, the fish and lamb were both excellent. Breakfast the next morning was fine.
The info we had read about the hotel spoke of a hot tub, so we were looking forward to using it while enjoying the view. When we found it, it was not heated above room temperature, so we were disappointed there, too. All in all, we would have found it acceptable for a 1-night stopover, but the prices were too steep for what we got.
