This was close to Powerscourt and on our way to the airport. The food was good.
This is a very beautiful property. The rooms are well equipped with a Great coffee making facilities. Food was delicious. I don’t mind at both informal and formal restaurants.

Not as advertised room 211
Upon arrival it looks very stylish and well kept, staff are well dressed and very well spoken. We were then asked for a €150 deposit which the male staff member stuttered when asked what it was for told us it was to hold in case we called down to the bar. To learn on reviews it’s a security deposit(he could have just said that it would have been fine instead of lying). When we checked into the room we were expecting a standard room as advertised on here but to our shock it was nothing like it I’ll include photos. Paint was patchy, room was very dated, the view was terrible, trunken to hide wires were unmatched and different colours. The pillows, duvet & bed was very comfortable and staff last night even delivered up a sheet to us because our room got very warm and we needed something lighter. The bathroom was a decent size and fully tiled looked well. I received an email during my first stay to ask how things were and mentioned the above and no one got back to me then when checking out my wife was asked if there was anything they could improve on and she mentioned the above he replied with well that’s the first photo advertised on the website of the few rooms at the front the were done up but if you look through the website you see the old rooms too.
This was a wedding anniversary gift to my wife and we have been to nicer 3 stars. It’s not a 4 star hotel while it has lovely garden and view from the restaurant the service was extremely slow and staff need more training
Stayed for 1 night for New Year’s Eve,
On arrival it was full of kids running around screaming in the bar, couldn’t have a conversation, it said online there was a library room where you could relax with a drink but that was locked. Lunch was ok very basic food, (ham and cheese bap and Pasta and jar of tomato sauce) and the staff all looked to be very young & inexperienced, didn’t have good hospitality training at all. The girl barista was extremely rude. You also couldn’t leave a credit card on your room to just add all your expenses like all normal hotels, this also caused a lot of confusion for the meal package that was booked, the lady at the front desk it seemed it was her first day on the job. There was about 4 managers walking around but it would have been better if they trained the staff. We were really banking on the woodland restaurant being as good as it said online, firstly the pictures online don’t look at all what it was, for Christmas there wasn’t even a tree, lights or a painting on the wall, cheap tables and chairs with over head bright spotlights, zero dining experience atmosphere, food was pub grub, deserts and cocktails were the saving grace, we went back to the bar for the new years celebration which was the late late on the telly and a guy playing guitar badly, rarely leave bad reviews but this is honest and how it was, serious improvements need to be made to call it a 4 star.
The parking was free and located right by the resort and spa areas. The room was clean, cozy, and nicely decorated, the pillows were rather hard, though. There was no fridge or microwave in the room, as American guests might desire. There was a hot water boiler, two cups and one spoon, 2 bottles of still water, tea bags and instant coffee singles, and milk singles (during our visit to the area we could not find any coffee creamer in liquid or powdered form anywhere).
The area around the resort was pretty, rural with green hills and trees. You could hear the highway noise from the parking lot of the hotel, though. Access to the resort grounds from the highway was fast and easy.
To eat at the restaurant you had to make reservations, so we did not go. We did not use the spa, although it was included with our stay. We ate at the bar a few times, sitting in the winter garden looking out, and the food there was delicious! We only had breakfast in the designated breakfast room once and thought it was expensive for what was offered. But the view from the window was lovely.
The hotel staff was very nice and friendly :)
In summary, I would recommend the resort and spa for it's friendly staff, nice scenery, clean and cozy rooms, convenient access, and proximity to other interesting places to visit.
Giving noisy room should not be let out at all prices they charge.
Staff not very friendly.
Spoke to Expedia to get my room changed after telling me they were fully booked
No doubt this was once a fantastic hotel, it exudes charm and quality but everything is now a bit tired. Positives - nice comfy bed; loads of parking and food was pretty good. Negatives - wifi unreliable, TV was limited and constantly broke up. Most annoyingly woke one morning to having no hot water...mentioned it to reception on the way out and received little more than a shrug!! Drinks were eye-wateringly expensive which made eating in an expensive option even for soft drinks.
