Nestled within picturesque rural Norfolk, this is also a great base from which to explore all that the area has to offer. And, there really is lots to do, with something for every taste within easy reach. Keen shoppers, foodies and history buffs alike will enjoy a visit to the fine city of Norwich. This medieval city boasts a Norman castle, numerous museums and galleries, cinemas, theatres and lots of great places to eat, shop and drink, including the Lanes which is filled with independent retailers and boutique bars, cafes and restaurants. Closer still lies the Mid Norfolk Railway, which offers trips from Yaxham to Wymondham.

Alder lodge is a lovely place to stay if you want peace, relaxation and privacy. Sophie and Dan are lovely owners they will send you warm welcoming messages. They have everything covered to welcome hamper to fresh towels! Would highly recommend!

Alder lodge was lovely, the perfect little home from home. Welcome basket was delicious, host popped in to check everything was ok on arrival. Clean and tidy, everything you would need was available. We had a beautiful relaxing weekend for our wedding anniversary. We will definitely recommend and return.

We've just been away for a week, 15-22 February. The cottage was beautiful and clean couldn't ask for anything more. The couple were really nice and helpful always asking if we were happy. The location is good, nice walks round the lanes. The hot tub was added luxury, very peaceful surroundings too

Spotlessly clean, well presented and fragranced. Hot tub brilliant to relax in and stargaze. Fab welcome hamper, very thoughtful and useful.A couple of baking trays in the kitchen were very worn (luckily there was tin foil)A lovely place to stay, out of the way which meant it was quiet and no light pollution.Beware of the upstairs ceilings if you are tall!

Trying to get away with baby and dog 🐕 ant the most relaxing holiday but Alder lodge really made us feel at home! The owners left us a gorgeous hamper with all the things we forgot including dog treats! Cottage was clean and nicely decorated! And the bonus was the enclosed garden for the dog to run free! We will definitely be visiting again! Great spot to travel from too! Lots of great locations around! Thanks Alder lodge x

Absolutely loved our long weekend here.
Absolutely loved our long weekend here. Our 3 year old beagle could safely have the run of the property, and me wife and I couldn't have been more relaxed in the hot tub in the sun had we tried! The owners respected our privacy, and the little touches they'd left in the property (flowers on arrival, a welcome basket, a dog bowl with fresh water on a hot day, the lasagne dish) were brilliant.

We have just returned home from a fabulous stay at Alder Lodge.
We have just returned home from a fabulous stay at Alder Lodge.
Myself, My Husband & 5yr old daughter loved every minute, The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable relaxing holiday. We were even welcomed with a lovely basket of goodies which I felt was a lovely touch. The necessity’s such as Milk, Sugar, Tea, Coffee, Butter and Washing up liquid we’re also provided which I felt was a lovely touch.
The cottage is well looked after and spotlessly clean. The owners were very welcoming & polite and ensured we had everything we needed upon check in but also respected our privacy to enjoy our time there.
We definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the near future.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage, we loved our time there. The owners cannot do enough for you to ensure your time at the cottage is the best it can be. I cannot rate / recommend this cottage enough. Go, you will not be disappointed.
