I love this hotel, we visit every year. It is very relaxing, the pools are great and the indoor thermal pool is amazing. Spa service is very good also. Food is fantastic, staff are very professional and friendly.
The service in the bar/cafe can be very slow. The bedrooms are very old and really need to be renovated, they smell of damp and are very dusty. It is a shame as the rest of the hotel is absolutely lovely.

Amazing boutique hotel in a great location next to the great beach in Somo. A treat after 5 days walking the carmino. Rooms are high quality, quiet location and the restaurant and breakfast is first class. All for a very affordable price.

We arrived late afternoon and enjoyed a lovely quiet chill out and then went for a walk, fabulous views. The hotel is tucked away in a wonderful valley, and once you find it is a great base for exploring. Dinner was excellent, home cooked and delicious - best to book ahead. Mendi Alai is in a lovely valley, very peaceful and rural but at the same time only around half an hour to the Atlantic beaches and an hour to Bilbao for a visit to the Guggenheim. We were there for the European Challenge...

Fantastic hotel in an unbeatable location right beside the Guggenheim. You can walk everywhere easily. The rooms were spacious, modern and very comfortable. The staff were brilliant throughout. The rooftop bar is a real highlight with amazing views. Would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast area is poorly laid out. It would not take a genius to reconfigure the layout in a more efficient manner. The table cloths need to be discarded in favour of something white !!
