"I had never stayed in a traditional Japanese hotel (I would call this a bed and breakfast) before, so this was really a nice experience. The building is in immaculate condition and it's very clean. It does have common bathrooms, so that was a bit of a surprise. The couple who runs the Fukurou Tei are nice and very helpful. The wife was also fluent in English, which helped me quite a bit. "What an incredible place: it's where restoration meets renovation! We were upgraded to 404, which was a HUGE old warehouse that contains modern necessities. The smell of the wood, especially in the bath, is very pleasant. This place has no TV and no clock -- 100% unplugged. In addition, the service was excellent. "
