The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we travel, but it hasn't shut down our desire to explore. Here are some tips on how to cope with travel's new challenges:

• Find out the rules and restrictions in both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so check before you lock something in.
• You're required to wear a face mask at the airport, including at security checkpoints. Be ready to lower your mask for ID purposes when asked by a TSA employee.
• Rather than handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, position it straight on the scanner yourself. After that, hold it up for inspection.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now permitted in your carry-on baggage. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag for X-ray scanning.
• Place any personal items (phone, wallet and keys) in your carry-on rather than a bin to reduce handling during the screening process.
• If you're taking food on the plane with you, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA employee will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for inspection.
