-Phoenix Park
Beautiful to visit. The gates are within 2 minutes walk. Open front door, turn right onto Infirmary Road and the gate is next to the local shop. Theres an excellent zoo and a few places to grab a snack.
-Guinness Storehouse
Learn how to pour a pint or do a ‘Guinness Stoutie’ cross the bridge at Heuston Station and turn left. A 15-20 minute walk.
The Hop-on Hop-off bus travels both from Dublin Zoo and the Guinness Storehouse. A great way to get around and see all the main Dublin attractions.
-Ryan’s Pub of Parkgate Street and FX Buckley
A true Victorian traditional pub with nice food. See the authentic bar and enjoy a Guinness or a glass of wine. The clock is always set 5 minutes fast, so local punters get their train.
Walk down Infirmary Road and it’s on the left.
FX Buckley is above Ryan’s, it’s the best steakhouse in Dublin. It’s not cheap but has the finest cuts. Book in advance for FX.
-The Hole in the Wall
The longest pub in Europe. Friendly with nice food and drink. There is parking onsite or walk 30 minutes through the Park to reach it.
-Temple Bar
To reach Temple Bar, walk down Infirmary Road and follow the River Liffey for 20 minutes. Lots of pubs with traditional live music and pub food. For something different, an award winning Nepalese Restaurant is on Eustace Street called Monty’s of Katmandu or VCC a secret cocktail lounge in Temple Bar (knock on a black secret door) has nice food too (Crown Alley Vintage Cocktail Club).
-The Church
Why not go to this amazing church-bar! Arthur Guinness got married here. A little Irish dancing and live music. Casual bar dining downstairs or book the Gallery upstairs for a more formal meal in advance. The Church, Jervis St, Dublin 1
- Out of town
All time favourite, Johnie Fox’s Pub. Highest pub in Ireland. Book to see Irish Dancing or go for casual dining.
