"This hotel has been the top hotel in Carlisle for a century it more I imagine. On my recent visit I was impressed that the rooms we had in the main classic part of the hotel had been brought up to a very good modern standard. The annex at the rear of the hotel we had last year were more modest but benefited from a fabulous view of the cathedral."

A historic castle type hotel with lovely grounds with access to the river and lovely river walks . Spacious rooms with antiques . Friendly warm staff . Epic dinner menu with a really good chef.
