"I upgraded to larger room, it was clean, very comfortable, bathroom clean & functional. Unfortunately my 'upgrade' was a room right next to main corridor door on ground floor, to say it was noisy is an understatement. The biggest issue was not the hotels fault, as the people in the room above were so loud, it sounded like there was a party going on & constantly banging on their floor. The lovely receptionist did kindly go & ask them to stop when I complained at around 9.45pm, which they did, for 10mins then started again until after 11pm. Definitely not what I paid extra for. Not on my list of hotels/motels to ever use again"

"There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the quality was good. The staff were lovely also. My only minor niggle and it is minor weight only got two tea bags in the room. (I'm a big tea drinker) I'm sure that if I had asked more would have been provided. Plus usually in hotels you get a little biscuit on the tea tray which there wasn't. But a bonus tick in the bathroom was individual shampoo and conditioner and shower gel. More than happy with my stay thank you "

"For me the hotel represents good value. I like the location by the river and there are plenty of places to eat and drink at within a 10 minute walk. The staff are great, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is buffet style but as with all buffets, it’s in the timing. Nice bar which we used as well. Not our first stay here and won’t be the last."

"wow what a fantastic stay. we only stayed for one night but it felt like a few days it was that relaxing. prior to our stay I was emailed about making an offer to upgrade our room, so I put an offer in for a junior suite which was accepted. what a beautiful room.. large, spacious, well set out, amazing bathroom and proper air con that kept the room fresh all night. although the bed was that comfy I could have slept through a heatwave. a special shout out to Ovi at the breakfast. he was the most pleasant, professional and friendly waiter! we were well looked after... so much so that when Ovi found out we were driving back to York he went off and made a pack up for our travels! thank you Ovi! we don't go to Newcastle often but when we go again I'll be back to the Dakota! Fantastic!"
