"The owners were just amazing. She even did our laundry for us. She was so sweet. The bathroom was clean with updated amenities and the home was clean, quiet, and a wonderful place to relax. Love how close the home is to the pub."

"Lovely place simultaneously close to the sights yet peaceful and "away from it all." Pressed coffee and delicious continental breakfast buffet got us off to a great start. Friendly and helpful staff, backyard garden and nearby parks made this a memorable stay."

"The room was super clean, but the pillows were just puffs of air you, sink into them with no support. We could also have done with a mini fridge.
The staff were incredibly helpful and really accommodating.
However the outside terrace wasn’t cleaned and full of soil, leaves and cobwebs, ontop of that the drinks from the bar were an absolute arm and a leg!! Shockingly expensive.
The breakfast was great, apart from the hash browns that on both days tasted stale and dry.
But with all that aside, it’s a gorgeous hotel, the location is amazing and we had a great time"
"Well, the location is very good overlooking the lakes.
However, the rooms and staff are a mess.
Starting with the room, the shower screen was broken and flooded the floor, the safe had no batteries, the headboard was hanging off the wall, the balcony was filthy and the furniture falling apart.
I tried calling housekeeping and reception to report the problems but no answer after 15 minutes on each. I finally gave up and went down to reception to report the problems, no action taken despite reminding a further 2 times.
Room not made up on second day, reported this again and was told it would it would be made up immediately. Never was.
The decking around the outside of the hotel was nice but needs stinging nettles and weeds removing that are growing through.
Paid £80 for a few hours in the spa only to find it full of kids. Don’t get me wrong, kids enjoy a pool but having paid £80 for my wife and I it was less than relaxing.
On the plus side the food was good, especially the steaks with peppercorn sauce.
All in all rather disappointing as the place could have been so much better."
"The hotel is modern with nice large rooms. However it’s let down by a few things.
One of the lifts was out of order. The others were perhaps the slowest I’ve ever been in.
The hotel advertises parking. When I arrived I was told it was 5 min walk away. Not exactly on-site.
There is actually parking behind the hotel, but it is all zoned off as 15min drop off zone!
Madness.
In the end I was able to park at the hotel as I have a disabled pass.
Lots of people have mobility issues, without necessarily having a disabled pass. Don’t advertise parking in site when it’s not. It’s misleading.
Once inside the hotel I put my keys and a grinder (for prescribed medical cannabis) on the counter whilst I checked in. I then was sharply “told off” by the receptionist “there’s no smoking in the rooms you know!”
I had to correct her.
1. I don’t smoke. Medicinal cannabis has to be used via a medical vaporiser.
2. I was planning to use the vape unit whilst out of the room.
3. How dare she make assumptions and challenge me over this. She made an immediate assumption that I was smoking weed illegally. I was not.
4. The new 2026 police guidelines tell officers to approach cannabis users with the assumption that they are using it legally on prescription. Perhaps your staff should do the same. I don’t appreciate having to justify the use of a prescribed medication to your staff and to be treated like I’m a criminal."
"Air conditioning was not working the whole time I was there and the windows are almost all screwed/sealed shut. The room was unusable for most of the time. Also, could not park on arrival as the car park was closed."
"The hotel is excellent other than the restaurant. We stay here regularly on the way to Devon. We tried the restaurant on the way and it wasn't good. Tried again on the way back with 10%discount and had to send the meal back. Next time we stay in July we will dine at the premier inn/beafeater 10mins away
Otherwise all was good"
"Hotel was well located, clean, room was spacious, and bathroom too. Made use of luggage store and was able to check in early. Bar and lounge area were comfortable. Breakfast simple but good range of options and proper juice rather than out of a machine. Would definitely stay again."
