"The place is great for a retreat. The lodges are spaceful, with air and view, very unique. In addition, I especially enjoyed the service from the Manager Martin: I had told him I was arriving late and couple sandwiches were waiting at my room so that I wouldn't go to bed with an empty stomach. And I asked him to organize for me a fishing party which he did fantastically and for a very reasonable price. I went early morning an hour out from the coast fishing Tuna with good and experienced guys....

"Property is nice, but the area is not the best in Zanzibar. Beach is right where a working fishing village is located. Not very private at all! Property is nice, grounds are ok. Overall upkeep of the property is below expectations. We switched villas and the second one was better, but not in pristine condition. Villa layout is awkward. "We had an amazing stay at this hotel in Zanzibar and would highly recommend it, especially for families or anyone looking for a relaxed break rather than the more touristy feel of some of the other beaches and resorts. The hotel is beautifully located close to the beach, with each room being very spacious and easily accessible. The breakfast buffet is vast and really good with crepes and omelettes made to order! We especially enjoyed the Masai dancing and the Italian-themed seafood barbecue held right on the beach. The staff were extremely attentive and genuinely made us feel well looked after. The nightly turn-down service, including having the mosquito nets sprayed each evening meant we were not plagued by mosquitoes each night - the staff paid attention to the little details, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. There is also a tourist company located on site, which made organising day trips very easy. Taxis are readily available, and it is only around a 20-minute ride to Kiwengwa where you will find another fabulous beach and plenty of restaurants to explore. What really stood out for us, though, was the atmosphere. Rather than feeling like we were simply staying in a hotel, we felt as though we were being welcomed into a family. The warmth and friendliness of everyone made it feel like a true home away from home. A huge thank you to Santosh, Suzan, Charles and Frank for making our stay so special and for making it feel like home away from home."

"We .loved the hotel. Everyone was so welcoming……. We are an older couple and were treated with the utmost respect. The room is lovely so spacious and had a wrap around balcony. The bed was very comfortable and we could even sleep with all the doors open. We ate at the restaurant for two nights out of three and the meals were lovely. Staff was so helpful every single one of them. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Also the location was 10 out of 10. You could walk wherever you like."
