Cozy stay within the wonderful lagoon of El Gouna. Close to the "Downtown" with it's delightful choice of bars and restaurants. Really nice and helpful staff. Always go for a Lagoon Room.
Small clean hotel with very good rate, room balcony is lovely overlooking the lagoon, amenities is basic but OK, 3 minutes walk to Tamr Henna Square, where everything available; shops, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, banks, pharmacy, etc.
Very recommended, but book lagoon rooms
Comfortable rooms with option for non smoking which I was delighted to find as the first room we were offered in the previous hotel we stayed at in El Gouna smelled like an ashtray! The adults only rule was an obvious plus during the school holidays. Staff were all helpful and the coffee with breakfast was lovely and smooth.
We stayed for one week in January 2011. This hotel was said to have a great breakfast buffé and we were not disappointed. It was absolutely great! I strongly recommend this hotel if you wish to stay in downtown El Gouna. There's a lot of nice restaurants close by (we didn't try the hotel restaurant). The Zeytona Island Beach was a little bit overrated.
The place was really cool. I went off season and still under covid circumstances so it was understandably quiet. The staff was exceedingly friendly, helpful, and professional.
The only bummer was that soft drinks are not included with dinner.
I'd go again :)
I really liked the decor of the hotel, it had a very nice cosy Nubian feel and the pool area is super nice. Staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very well located near downtown walking distance to restaurants/bars etc. My only issue is my room (401) was too small and didn’t have a desk space to work. Breakfast was nice and simple served at Sultan Bey sister hotel.
The hotel is located in Down town in El Gouna, an excellent location. Many good restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance.
There is a heated clean swimming pool, good WiFi every where.
Excellent delicious breakfast, variety of options for every one. Freshly made omelettes, fried eggs and pancakes available.
Staff are always ready to help and make your stay enjoyable. A big thanks to Makarious at the front desk.
Hope to be back soon.
I've stayed here before and this time was as good as the last. This is a beautiful hotel, with simple Egyptian decoration. The staff are friendly and kind, and more importantly very respectful. The breakfast buffet is standard fare, with plenty of fresh fruit salad and meusli, as well as the usual pastries and savouries. The pool is small and not crowded. The clienetle is nice - no busloads of tourists here! For the price, I'd highly recommend this hotel. I've booked another weekend there in March :-)

Hotel is great but housekeeping isn’t the best. For example, they don’t put water in the room so that you use the one in the fridge and get charged. Very cheap approach.
when i book for this hotel it was not turned to adults only at the time. i reached the hotel with my wife and my 1 year child, the sales manager met me and told me that this hotel became for adults only and i can't stay because the child and he solve this and turned my booking to Sultan Bey hotel which he also the sales manger for Sultan too, as he say.
regarding the stay in "SULTAN BEY" i spend excellent times in this hotel, food was very delicious, room was directly on lagoon, it was excellent view, the room service was very good.
regarding "Dawar El Omda" i can't review it because i did't stay there.
This hotel is very central, a 3-minute walk from the bus station, for those coming from Cairo with GoBus. The check-in was fast and friendly and we got to our rooms in time to go for a beer before bed, even though we arrived late. The rooms are clean and comfortable, in very simple Arabic style. We had a room over the lagoon, it felt like Venice. This hotel sees mainly couples and families and I've never seen a coach pull up outside. This means it's quiet and people feel at home. Breakfast is from 7 to 10 and the staff don't mind if you linger. The pool was heated 2 of the 3 days I was there. The lobby is gorgeous and has the most beautiful 'balady' benches and artisan-made cushions. For what we paid, this hotel is really amazing. I've never had a bad experience here.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Its ok just!
204 room Not a direct problem of a hotel but the neighbours in 205 did nothing but talk and shout And use the phone on the balcony from 7 o'clock in the morning . The shower was inconsistent in temperature.
It was all a little bit tired with doors hanging off.
The room was dirty, the bathrooms were dirty. I even tried to clean it personally but it was too dirty. The garbage we put outside of our room wouldn't get cleaned for days until we asked for them to be removed. The friendly staff ( not all) was the only bright side of our stay.
Our room was very bad, nothing was working in the room.
Also no refrigerator, they do not function well in any of the rooms
Also no security at all, u can open any room from the balcony..
Other friends rooms were better, however not as expected
We were lucky enough on this stay at the lovely Dawar El Omda, to have been allocated a suite - we had booked a standard double. I guess the hotel was fully booked and we got a free upgrade! The suite was great, with three single eds, so we were able to take a room each. We had a fully-stocked mini-bar and tea and coffee-making faciities. Each room had its own entrance onto the terrace, which opened on to the lagoon. We were able to invite our pals who were also stayiong at Dawar el Omda, to our suite for pre-dinner drinks and nibbles! Breakfast was long and lazy fun, with plenty of coffee refills from the very friendly and kind staff. As the hotel was fully-booked, we weren't able to avail of late check-out, but it didn't matter because we were able to leave our bags in the luggage room, and lie by the pool until our bus to Cairo left in the late afternoon. This hotel is less than a five-minute walk from the GoBus stop in Downtown Gouna, which is very handy also.
