The staff worked hard as there weren’t enough of them, radiators not working in room 236 (complained first night nothing changed) and no hot water from shower, several people sent there food back to the kitchen from the restaurant.
Front of house in restaurant greeted people saying “sit anywhere bruv”
This stay reminded me of Faulty towers.
Good location. Friendly staff on reception. Fire alarm rung at breakfast and staff should have come out of kitchen to offer guidance. Breakfast cold and limited choice
had a very fancy atmosphere without making me feel completely out of place. we had a room on the corner of the building and had two windows, it was lovely.

Comfortable room but luke warm food
Everything was fine apart from the temperature of the food. I phoned to order my food and said I would like it in my room and I would collect it. When I went downstairs it was just open on a tray with no cover in reception. I felt it and it was just warm. I asked for a cover but they were unable to find a lid or a piece of foil to cover it with so I had to walk to the lift to 2nd floor and to room 315 I think! The food was barely warm and the carrots and broccoli were hard.
Not satisfactory. I thought there was no point in complaining as they didn’t seem to care.
I shall not be eating there again.
Lovely hotel actually a hidden gem. The staff are amazing too!! From Michaela and the other lady in reception to Mark the barman and the guy at breakfast all so helpful and a true asset to this hotel.
Lovely pool area and a great steam room and sauna too. The changing rooms do need a bit of tlc but my only gripe.
Room was quite large with really nice bedding and fittings. Large bathroom with a great shower too.
The staff can’t do enough for you at this hotel and we will definitely return again and again.
Breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice and again a nice young man who was friendly and helpful.
See you soon mercure chester North!!
Thanks :)
I stayed in your hotel by myself Friday the 31st of January 2020. , booked in about 4.30 pm ish and got settled in nicely , I went down to the bar for a couple of hour which was fine then went to bed around 9 pm ish and went to sleep , I was woken by a strange women in my room stood next to my wallet and car keys looking rather shifty ? I asked her what she was doing she replied oops sorry wrong person ? I asked how she got into my room she said down stairs had issued a key ? How could this happen she didn’t know my name and definitely didn’t look like me ? I asked her for the key in which she gave it to me and left quite quickly , I rang down stairs with no answer , I looked my door again and stuck a chair behind it , I didn’t sleep at all that night for this reason , she was stood next to my wallet n car keys and there was obviously something on her mind like sterling them , my car is a brand new Mercedes AMG too , I left at 8 am the following morning in which I asked for management to complain , no management was in ? The gent I spoke to on your desk was called Jacob in which he said he would get management to ring me and here we are on Monday after chasing them every day and 3 times today talking to one of your staff members called michkala in which she said there not in while 10 am and would ask them to call me straight away ? No body had called ? Rang back twice and been told they are buisy ? Oh and on the way home on Saturday Jacob rang me in which he said he had just
The room was tidy and clean but overly hot. It was a long time before the temperature dropped sufficiently after turning down the radiator. The breakfast was buffet in style; inadequately cooked sausages, overcooked tomatoes, overcooked fried eggs.

Well the room was clean but there was just a
Net that had a hole in it, & it hadn’t been hemmed or ironed at the window
It just looked like a bit of rag
The bathe had rust marks around the overflow that just looked liked poo
It was reported
We booked 3 double rooms.
Excellent check in and service. Very clean although rooms a bit dated.
One of the rooms had no hot water in the morning which resulted in one couple having cool/cold showers

Not up to the standard I’d expect from this chain
The bed was not comfortable, the pillows were too soft. The sink in the bathroom had a crack in it and the wall could do with a lick of paint
Hard to fault. Checked in at 10pm by Michaela who was just as I expect from a receptionist - cheerfully friendly, polite and efficient. Really set the tone for the weekend! Room was large, airy and spacious. A few scuff marks on walls and bathroom door but nothing to detract from overall satisfaction. Bed was large and comfortable. Good choice of cooked or continental breakfast and varied and good choice of bar snacks at lunch. Did not experience restaurant. Onky begative might be bar service. Staff varied, seemed to be seconded from other duties with differing levels of experience or ability and sometimes had to be 'tracked down'. Stock level of some items may be too low - a customer requiring replacement Baileys after being served with a dirty glass was told "we have no more Baileys" and this was still the situation 24 hrs later! Although we would think this currently popular drink would be well-stocked, the situation in no way detracted from our stay since the bar is not the main focus of our visit!

disappointing birthday surprise
This was a weekend booked for my partners birthday and I was dissapointed and also embarrassed with the booking. It appeared that I must have booked a very cheap hotel so didn’t have the impact I wanted it to. Rooms in very poor condition holes in the carpet and the chair arms black instead of being able to see the pattern this was because of the cleanliness and wear. The breakfast was terrible and probably the worst I have had. Instead of this being a birthday celebration in actually made us fall out because it wasn’t the present and surprise expected. We have stayed at various mercure hotels that have been excellent so very very disappointed.
Horrible stay and service they give my room to me and other person that storm in my room in the same time I was walking in the shower.
Big concern about safety, In the room heating was not working and shower could water.
Stuff rude and arrogant, I not advice to stay in here.
Would not recommend this hotel. Our room was grubby, dirty walls flake paint work, sons room had a bath with holes in rusty top, when complained and given another room it was as grubby as ours.
When asked reception to order us a taxi to go out he didn’t want to said walk it will only take 15 mins, this on a rainy night. Only when my wife asked if the route was well lit, that the barman said don’t walk there has been incidents in the area,we looked this up and found them to be knife crime. We went out in our car and it took about 10 minutes, so a lot more walking.
So disappointed we didn’t even bother staying for breakfast. All this after being told on arrival that we had only booked one room when my receipt said two rooms and when we got the hotel's paper work it clearly said room one of two.
