Overall good with some points to improve
Very nice hotel overall, clean large rooms, very modern. Nice views, comfortable beds, everything in the room as you expect from Kempinski. A bit inconsistent when it comes to service. Reception promised to find more info about fishing, but never replied. Request to bring a pillow (our missed the pillow case) never completed, only next day. Dinner service very messy, big delay, desserts menu never served when asked for twice. Breakfast is good however, large selection and tasty.

Building as beautiful as the setting. Very high standards but staff create a relaxed, down-to-earth atmosphere. Exceptional rooms and breakfast, bed probably the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Fabulous hotel.

Great hotel in a beautiful area!
We stayed here for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed everything about this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, courteous and attentive. The location is really convenient, for being both just a few minutes walk from the centre of town and access to the mountains, and the fact that it's also just a few minutes walk from the train station. We stayed in the corner Belle Epoque Room in the original part of the hotel, and was surprised how spacious and well laid out it was; from the photo, it looks a little compact which did originally concern me a little when I booked, but it isn't the case at all. The view out of the 3 balconies in the room and the one from the bathroom was fantastic and great to wake up to in the mornings. We didn't dine at the hotel in the evening, but breakfast offered plenty of choices, all fresh and all well laid out which set up us nicely for the day. The spa was also great to be able to unwind after a day exploring the mountains. The need to ditch bathing gear in the steam/sauna rooms is something to note for travellers not used to it, but it's normal here and towels are plenty at hand. A lovely, lovely hotel that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

Pillow menu - genius!
Gorgeous spa, wonderful massage, great service, and the whole room was spot on. The bed was super comfortable and the added bonus of a pillow menu - wow - we slept so well!

Below expectations: service, heating and costs
The hotel is beautifully restored with a very good location. Rooms are extremely hot, and no possibility to lower the temperature, such that we wanted to sleep with the window open. For one very little environmentally friendly. - Our room faced the street where drunk people wander and shout until 3:30 in the morning, which was very disturbing. Apparently only the big suites face the quiet sides of the building, and no one in the reception told us this, so we were moved to another room with no less noice, but the room was a lot smaller, and more expensive for some reason. Not very happy about this treatment and the setup of rooms per se. - Parking was in an externally managed parking place, and quite expensive - would hav expected this to be included in a 5 start hotel with these rates. - Ski rental was very pricy compared to the rest of the city, and the employee at the ski rental was very sweet but knew nothing about the slopes and also not much about skis... - again below expectations, and rather have an agreement with the ski rental shop across the street where employees presumeably know more - coming home I disocvered that the hotel had charged my credit card twice for one of the nights we stayed. This ws not reflected in the invoice received upon check-out, and therefore not discovered until later, by coincidense. After 10 days the hotel has still not responded to my kind request to fix the erroneous charging of my credit card.
