The hotel is in a good location, but the rooms are noisy at night. By 2:00 a.m., street noise and traffic can be heard . There is no on-site parking, so guests must use street parking and renew it by 8:00 a.m. ( free from 8 pm to 8am). Some rooms are below ground level (labelled Level 1, when in reality is -1). On a positive note, the reception staff is efficient and responsive. We were not initially given the room type we had booked, but the issue was resolved and we were moved to the correct room on the second night. Housekeeping could also be improved, particularly the bathroom cleaning. The Wi‑Fi was also frequently disconnected. We paid CAD 327 per night during the August high season, and at that price the hotel feels overpriced, especially since neither breakfast, nor parking is included. Overall, the value for money is disappointing.

"The Evening buffet didn’t meet our expectations. It had overdone meat in several different options. The food wasn’t hot and the salads were almost gone. We both didn’t think it was worth the money. "The property was very nice, but the common area were extremely outdated. The rugs were not clean for such a beautiful hotel. If they did a cosmetic rehab, it would be outstanding needs to be updated."

"It is a beautiful hotel, we had a balcony with an ocean view. The breakfast is first class, the service was hospitable. And the location was perfect for us - only a 20 minute walk to the Funchal Marina, with an abundance of beautiful cafe's and shops. I would definitely recommend this hotel."
