With views of St Abbs harbour and the sea from almost every window, this charming period cottage in a terrace of fishermen’s cottages is a gloriously relaxing setting for family and friends to enjoy precious time together. Beul-An-Latha (pronounced bee-al un la-ah), is Scots Gaelic for ’the moment the sun rises to the east’ and early risers can watch this from the bedroom.
St Abbs is twinned with New Asgard, of the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ movie fame, as filming took place in the village and Beul-An-Latha looks down to the harbour where it all happened. The pretty little beach is just 5 minutes’ walk through the rights of way which wind through the village. The Berwickshire Coastal Path, 48 km from Cockburnspath to Berwick-on-Tweed, passes through too. There is a putting green and the harbour has a café, local fishing boats, a diving boat and RIB boat trips to explore the coast to see the ruins of Fast Castle, smugglers’ caves and the astonishing seabird colonies on St Abbs Head Nature Reserve.
Eyemouth, 5 miles, also has a working harbour, local shops, restaurants and a golf course. Coldingham has two pubs to choose from. Take the train from the Elizabethan walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed to Edinburgh or Newcastle in under an hour. The towns and villages of the Scottish Borders have great local food suppliers, craft and art galleries, historic abbeys and grand houses and gardens. There is also wonderful hill walking and cycling all around the area. Beach 200 yards. Shop 100 yards, pub 2 miles, restaurant 5 miles.

Beautiful little cottage with great sea/ harbour views. Solid fuel stove which blasted out plenty of heat, ideal for a winter visit. Fab cliff top walks and plenty choice regarding eating and drinking, either in village or nearby towns. We will return!

A basic but very comfortable, well kitted out cottage in a stunningly beautiful location.
A basic but very comfortable, well kitted out cottage in a stunningly beautiful location. On the doorstep of some of the best coastal scenery anywhere in Britain and a great base for long walks along rugged cliff tops and deserted beaches. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing cottage, perfectly situated in the sleepy fishing village of St Abbs.
Absolutely amazing cottage, perfectly situated in the sleepy fishing village of St Abbs. Peaceful, with breathtaking views... Absolutely nothing to do here with kids, but they loved that the cottage had a real fire, and that there were board games supplied. The only downside is that I do not recommend this property to anyone with young children. Due to the way the house is designed, the stairwell is incredibly steep and the matter bedroom leads straight on to the top step with no landing. My 4 year old almost had a few accidents... I would recommend for children ages 6+. Other than that, we had an amazing mini break. Than you!

What a lovely cottage in a lovely village.
What a lovely cottage in a lovely village. It felt like home from the second we walked in; with music, binoculars and games there was always something to do. We had a week of being big kids exploring the coast and rock pools by day and chilling with records and a board game at night. We will be coming back for sure!
