Howgills Barn | Self-catering accommodation in Yorkshire | Countryside location

"I've just returned from another amazing weekend away with friends at Howgills Bunk Barn. I have been visiting the barn at least once a year for the last 15 years and it has always been such a great place to stay. The place is always well equipped with everything you might need for a weekend away - plenty of crockery, glasses, towels etc. The drying room is ideal if the weather is less than kind and there is always the option of using the washing machine and tumble drier. The social spaces are well thought out with plenty of seating both indoor and out. The hot tub is a firm favourite with our group, but the games room is also popular and we always make use of the BBQ. I noticed this year that they have pizza ovens now too. Each family can have their own ensuite room and their are extra showers and loos available too. The barn is a short walk out of town and their are numerous walks you can do from the door. Sedbergh has a Spar and a number of pubs. I can recommend the butchers - The Meat Hook - for any BBQ meat orders as well as Sedbergh Pizza for pizza and kebab delivery. It really is a perfect group holiday destination thanks to the thought, care and efforts of the Howgills team. I can't recommend it highly enough!"

"I could not fault anything. Every communication from the owners and team was great, the house is incredible and the views are breathtaking. Highly recommend staying here! Plenty space for larger groups, each room having its own en-suite is luxury. Double hot tub, Looking out to fields of sheep is the perfect way to start your morning. We all would 100% stay again. We also had a chef (Paul) booked via groupia cook us a lovely 3 course meal which was an amazing addition to our stay."

"We had a lovely stay in apartment eight. Which is always very spic and span. It’s disabled friendly, which is I have balance problems suits me well. The walk in shower was especially helpful. We enjoyed a walk out and a couple of cycles. The community orchard on the way was fascinating. Sadly you can’t book the weather, but enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. We would thoroughly recommend Howgills Appartments."

"Four of us stayed here for a three night break using the apartment as a base to explore the Lake District and we could not have been happier with its location. Sedgergh is a lovely little town with a good range of shops and pubs/restaurants and the apartment is immaculate. One word of caution is that the mezzanine bedroom might not be suitable for small children as it’s accessed by a very steep ladder. Cannot recommend this place highly enough."
