Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Darligen holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a cruisy experience if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and something to read. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your important medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, blades, fuels and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like ice skates, and objects that could harm other people, such as firearms and swords, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight can be as simple as your choice in clothes. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up. That way you'll stay nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left in your checked suitcase. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you for it.
- Most travellers have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There are many ways to lessen your risk. Don a pair of compression tights or socks, drink lots of water often and move your legs and feet. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
