It had been renovated since my last stay and was brighter and cleaner. Staff was excellent and the included breakfast was bountiful. Easy to walk to any of the sites of Florence.

We were expecting a hotel room based off of the booking of a standard room, however we were given keys to a next door building which seemed to be an apartment. We were given access to a bedroom, kitchen, rooftop, bathroom, and living room but had to share access to an entry way with another resident. It was quite strange and other than the bathroom not being the most up to date amenity it was still pleasant to live in and more space than expected. However! There is a very loud pump that pulls water up to the 4th floor every single time you open a tap, flush the toilet, or shower. It also turns on when the other resident is using their water which was quite disruptive especially in the early morning and late at night. The desk staff during check in could also be more helpful, transparent about booking, and more hospitable.

We loved staying at this cute hotel! Super close to the Duomo, lots of restaurants, and shops. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room is small but felt it was sufficient for what we needed. It’s obvious they work to clean the rooms and bathrooms. Unfortunately, you can tell there are small amounts of mold around the corners of shower and they’ve tried to fix it. Overall, that’s was a great place to stay and if you aren’t allergic to mold definitely recommend. We would love to stay here again!

Hugely misleading room advertisement
I was put in a room that looked nothing like the pictures on hotels.com and which was in a separate building five minutes away from the main hotel building. The room was in a residential building with no reception and no amenities. The room also had a very unsafe stairs to reach the bed, which was not shown in any of the pictures. I reached out to hotels.com asking them to review what seemed to be a mix up and was told th reception would relocate me to the correct room. The hotel reception insisted I was in the right room despite me showing them my booking confirmation and pictures which look nothing like the hotel I booked and refused to move me. I complained again to hotels.com and was asked what I was hoping to 'get' from my complaint. A very odd comment. Overall the service from both the hotel and hotels.com was really disappointing and the fact that the room/building I was put in was nowhere on the booking advertisement is hugely misleading.

AVOID at all cost
We received the wrong room and not what was booked. The reception and staff are deceptive and always have stories that does not make sense. There were other tricks. The aircon remote was removed from our room while we were out one evening.It was an obvious, distressing and devious way to prevent our using it. Breakfast was horrible. The promised English language news channel was unavailable and we were first told a batch of contradictory and illogical stories about why this was so, then later offered a card for 20 or 30 Euros to provide one.The manager was also not pleasant to deal with. I must mention that the rest of the staff was helpful and friendly. While the hotel is in a convenient location, it is to be avoided if you want to have the pleasant and comfortable holiday in Florence that you have paid for and looked forward to. We have stayed at many 4 star hotels in Italy in the past, and have never encountered this kind of issue or attitude, or the many other issues that came up throughout our stay. We were told that as it had been booked in June, and prices had gone up since then, the room could not be kept for us in October when prices were higher. Which makes no sense on any level at all.

Subpar, low value
I was placed in a room on the first floor, which shared a wall with the breakfast dining area. To get to my door you had to walk through the buffet area. Basically I was awoken early every morning my loud guests, loud silverware, dishwashing, etc. it was very annoying. At the end of my stay, I was asked about my experience and I informed them about this. The front desk said they knew there were loud people and told them to be quiet but it’s unfortunate they didn’t. That was the end of it, they knew I was upset and didn’t do anything to try to make up for it. That was not acceptable to me. Other than that the room was nice and clean. But I would definitely not stay here again.

Hotel Ginori al Duomo Florence v good, not bril
We had a great time but wondered why we had been put in the top room with 60 steps to get there and no coffee machine. We were maybe given a lower class room as we were British. Also there was a moment when using the pool was going to cost more than agreed, but at the end of the day it was sorted and everyone was happy. The breakfast and location could not be better.

Would recommend highly.
The minute we got out of the cab, they were there to take our bags and check us in. Even though we had to climb up 3 flights of stairs, the bellboy took all our bags up for us and then brought them all down when we left. There was a lovely pool and hottub for guest use. The breakfast was wonderful. A nice assortment of different breakfast foods. You could also ask for coffee any time of the day and if you needed something to eat they had wrapped cookie biscuits available. Great location to main attractions.

STaff were very friendly and polite. However, the shower didn't work at all well - constant temperature changes. And this wasn't fixed despite several complaints. The fixtures and fittings in the bedroom were rather dated.

Needs some work
There was very loud construction going on the noise was crazy... at some points there was pieces of the wall falling because of the drilling. Breakfast at the hotel was great but there is a smell in the rooms almost of molding or wet carpet. A plus is the location of the hotel literally in the middle of all of the major sites in Florence.

Bad hotel
I was very disappointed about that hotel .. the hotel was very dirty and the size for the room was super small the restroom was about 2 feet away from the bed.. no walking distance at all the room was very dark as well.. even my wife where very scare to see a roaches in room but the worst of that when we arrive to the hotel you have to take the stairs up and very Pointe it like we going up to the duomo.. it like 70 degree angle to go up.. .. I was planning to leave the hotel same night to checking to other hotel around the area but everything were full ...and about the price was very expensive and was not 4 star at all I give 2 star all day for that hotel... the breakfast was just fine but in very small location as well ...the location is like outside patio has been closed just make extra space for breakfast area.. and too noisy as well ...

Dear Simon, thank you for your kind review Of course I wish to apologize for the inconvenice we mihgt have caused you. However we feel to point it out couple of thigs: 1- The hotel is developed in three floors and not in four. At the moment we do not have en elevator, we are planning to have one soon...but thanks to all our porters we always help our guests with luggage 2- Even if we try our best, we know we are not able to pleased all our guests at the same level, but I do not think that a two starts hotel would offer all the services that our hotel may offer...such as swimming pool, wine cellar with wine tasting...concierge 24hours and so on. 3- Cleaning for us is the main thing, the way you describe our hotel, is not at all real....we have several guests that decided to stay with us more than one time not only for the great location but for our high standards of cleanliness as well. Dissapointing - do not select with a pool in mind
Advertised pool - nonexistent, not on the premise, a separate location and additional fee ($25) per each person Staff - rude, yelling that if we want a pool (it was 98 degrees) we better pay (though we thought we did so by selecting "pool" under amenities. When we mentioned that we will write this review we were told to ask nicely so we may get a"free pass" for one day to a distant pool (we passed) No elevator, our room was on the 5 floor (US), weak AC and WIFI Tiny room and even smaller bathroom (smaller than a typical European big city hotel) First night TV did not work and when fixed no English channels were available despite a sign that listed BBC Very good location

Nice hotel very close to the duomo
We stayed 5 days here and the staff was wonderful and accomodating. The room was not real pretty but it satisfied all of our needs. The staff and location more than made up for the room. The breakfast was good and overall I would rate this a 4. We had a wonderful time!

Florence Hotel
The hotel was built in 1442 and it very charming. There are no lifts or elevators due to the age. The entire staff is fantastic and go out of their way to help with anything you might want or need. Recommendations for restaurants were good as well. The breakfast and coffee was phenomenal.

A hotel with great character.
The hotel is an old building, parts date back to the 15th century, but with modern facilities and fittings. It has a charm and character that few modern hotels can match. Because of the nature of the building, the hotel does not have a lift. This could be an issue for anyone with restricted mobility. However, as a moderately fit 68-year old, I had no problems walking up the stairs to my top-floor room. The room was clean and comfortable with a large wardrobe and a free safe. It was also quiet.

No lift. Room light not bright enough.
No lift, you have to walk up the stairs. Room light is not enough, very dim. No power point if you want to charge more than 1 phone and to boil water. Breakfast is good.

A superb hotel that I would use again
We stayed in the Garden suite which was seconds from the pool though we only used it once. The room was fantastic. The air con was also excellent which was good for us as we are not used to 37 degrees heat. The staff were absolutely superb and the hotel couldn't be in a better position for site seeing in Florence. It is about a 10 minute walk from the train station then about 5 minutes walk to all the main sites.
