We found a used condom under the sofa in the apartment. It was awful. The landlord was very unpleasant and intrusive; it turned out he lived in the very next apartment, so we ran into him constantly. The house rules were bizarre—things like using the air conditioner only on a schedule, limiting shower times, and replacing used toilet paper and other disposable items. It’s such a wonderful city, but the apartment really soured the experience. It was nothing but stress.
