"Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, but somewhat dimly lit. Bathroom lacks ventilation other than via opening a window. Breakfast is limited, and unavailable for early risers. Parking is designated by room to individual rooms, which is helpful."

"This hotel is nothing to look at from the outside, but the room was spacious and included an electric fireplace. The lobby/eating area was large and could accommodate many people. The hot breakfast buffet rotated its selections and posted a weekly menu selections. The location was convenient to all attractions in the Black Hills."

"The room was clean and quiet and we loved the breakfast. Honestly the breakfast was better than the sit down meal we had in town. We also loved the fact it began at 6:30 because we began our day early. Coffee and tea available 24/7."

"The ElkHaven Resort cabins are convenient to everything around Custer State park. I could get anywhere within 30 minutes. I especially enjoyed the Sylvan Lake area. Only 5 minutes to downtown Custer (and Mt. Rushmore Brewing Co.) The cabin was perfect for a multi-day stay as it was away from the crowds and noise. You could feel alone from the world with an evening drink on the porch. The only negative was the evening sun through the large window made the front room very hot. I highly recommend this place for an out of the way yet convenient stay. I was a solo traveler this trip but it would also be great for families."
