"Do NOT stay at this property. The hotel, bar and room were beautiful. However a maid tried to enter our room at 9:00 (checkout was 11) woke us up. Manager said we didn’t have our do not disturb on. Nope. We always check before bed specifically for this reason. And second we let them valet our car. They park it in an underneath parking garage. It had rained during the night and sentiment dripped on our entire roof, sunroof and along side our car. They told us to use LCR which we know would take the clear coat off our car. We called for 4 days for a manager. Never heard back. We ended up having to pay a professional detailer at our dealership to get it off. Took them 3 hours to remove it without damaging our car. Totally unacceptable. This wasn’t our fault yet we had to pay on our dime for it. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional for a business. "

"It has the bare necessities and not much else. General sense that everyone, except the desk staff and property manager, are apathetic. Our first room had food crumbs on the beds and floor. The hotel manager took care of it by giving us another room, some snacks, and complimentary late check out. That was good. The house cleaning staff tried to blame us for their bad work by saying “those crumbs weren’t there when I finished cleaning.” Even in replacement room the floors were so dirty I used the hotel towels to mop it myself. Hair, eyelashes, gum, everything was caked on those floors. They literally do nothing but sweep the floors. Wouldn’t ever stay there again unless you’re good with wearing shoes inside. 5i golf downstairs was cool. "

"Hotel Houze was conveniently located in the heart of downtown Detroit. The staff was very warm and attentive, the apartment setup was clean and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again. "

"We stayed in a lot of hotels and accommodations over a 3 week period whilst travelling. I'll start with the positives... The room was a great location for Comerica Park and theres plenty of room. Check-in process was easy. The cons...the bed was so uncomfortable I had the worst night sleep, the sofa bed which my child slept in was the same and sagged in the middle, was not clean and also uncomfortable. The deposit was taken days before arriving which was more than any other places we stayed at (most of not all took it at time of check in) and I got it back a few days later after asking for it (other places gave it back after check out)."

"The property was affordable, clean enough, and had coffee and breakfast snacks. A lot of parking. Close to a lovely park. The staff was really nice and very accommodating. I will never stay here again. The rooms have no sound insulation; it's loud all through the night. It does not feel safe. The cleanliness was just okay enough not to check out. It is not centrally located downtown. "
