This hotel is great for a city break, rooms very spacious and clean. Parking was not directly on the hotel site, but just over the road and pretty secure. It’s a shame it does not have a restaurant within the hotel, it means you have to go back into Freiburg every time you want a meal, which was sometimes an effort when you’ve been out site seeing all day. The tram line is right outside the hotel which is perfect for getting straight into the city, Freiburg itself is a fabulous city. We had breakfast on the first morning, and although it was good, it was really expensive per head. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Clean and comfortable hotel with great service.
I was able to check in early to freshen up as it was so hot outside. Spotlessly clean throughout with proper social distancing measures throughout. Reception staff so helpful.

Great size Family Room at Green City Hotel Vauban
We booked the family room at the Green City Hotel Vauban which was a great size and with the children’s beds in the duplex above the main room which was a great touch. The room and bathroom was very clean and beds very comfortable. The nice touches are a tablet pad computer that connected to the WiFi is provided in the room for the guests to use. A free bottle of water and small bags of sweets for kids also made you feel welcome. Unfortunately room has no tea/coffee making facilities, but you can buy in reception. As this is a city centre hotel, parking is across the road in the under ground carpark at EUR5 per day. But all guests are provided with “free” local Tram/bus pass to use during their stay. With tram stop right outside, it was very convenient to go by tram into city centre (7 stops approx 18mins). We was very pleased with the hotel and would stay again if we were to visit.

Great Hotel!
Everything was great. Didn’t have to sacrifice any comforts and it was all Eco friendly. Highly recommend this hotel. Great location as well!

The car park for the hotel is at the shopping mall across the road. First-time travelers would find it difficult to find the car park until you ask the check-in counter.

Great place to explore Freiburg from
Staff lovely with good English. No trouble to provide travel cot in impeccable condition with sheets and blankets. Room was generous size for double with good storage and huge bathroom. Very clean and right next to tram (which you get a free pass for) that takes you straight to the old town. Breakfast simple and tasty although a tad overpriced at €12/adult. There is a bakery next door. Parking is easy once you find out where it is (across the road under the dm) and reasonably priced at €5/night. All in all a great stay at a reasonable price and would stay again but without breakfast.

Great place to stay.
This was one of the best Hotels we stayed in so far into our trip. The room was good, service staff very helpful. Tram stop right outside the door. Couldn't have wished for better.

Wonderful hotel in interesting area
Green City Hotel is located in Vauban, an interesting area outside of downtown Freiburg, but still convenient. There are businesses near the hotel, and the hotel will give you a free pass to local transit. A tram to downtown stops frequently right in front of the hotel and just takes 10 minutes to the center of Freiburg. The hotel itself is attractive, comfortable, and quiet. The service is friendly and efficient. Their breakfast buffet is terrific. The wi-fi was very good for everything except e-mails, which worked only inconsistently on my Apple devices. You can easily work around this with WhatsApp.

Problem with reservation
We arrived at the hotel only to find that Expedia had never sent our reservation to the hotel. With 4 somewhat tired kids, this was not an ideal situation! After calling Expedia in Canada, we finally got our room but for two nights instead of three. We were expecting to change rooms after 2 nights but an unknown customer agreed to let us stay in our room (or his room!) for the third night. That was a pleasant surprise. But overall a very good stay.

Nice location, close to many things. Room was clean and comfortable. We had some issues with the Wifi which never really got resolved (couldn't access it after the first 2 days in the room. It worked fine downstairs oddly). Otherwise a-ok stay.

Great value, great design
This is a relatively new hotel which is at the upper end of 3 star so great value for money. It's in the green village and in great surroundings. V. friendly reception, let us check in early, very helpful. Bathroom great design and rooms have a great pine finish bespoke feel, clean and accommodating.

Great hotel which is clean and new. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is okay. The hotel is very sparse and stark which clean modern lines and no decor in the rooms etc. If you don't mind that then this is a great hotel.

Top Floor is top notch
We stayed here while checking our son into nearby student housing for a study abroad program. This was at the tail end of a two week European tour so we were already used to the small size of European hotel rooms. We found our room to be clean, the staff to be attentive and the tall ceilings of the 4th floor to be voluminous. All in all it was a good value and a comfortable room.

Great experience at this small, clean hotel
We loved the hotel and the staff. It was clean, inexpensive, and the staff was super helpful. Don't expect a 5-star full service experience, but its absolutely perfect and sweet for what it is... Also, so easy to catch the tram to the old-town and train station. There is a great supermarket and drug store just down the way.

Der hohe Stellenwert der Ökologie und der Inklusion hat mir sehr gefallen. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, aber deutlich zu teuer. Die Lage in einem tollen Stadtteil mit sehr gutem Anschluss ab den ÖPNV ist super!
