"A very quaint and charming hotel. Large room included refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, 2 burner stove and overhead fan. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy parking."

"We didn’t comfortable or enjoyed stay from 4/19 to 4/23/26. There was no breakfasts served due to the under construction. We needed changed the room three times. The room 407 had bathroom leak and room 412 the toilet didn’t flush. Check out time I told the staff about the problem no apologies! He only asked do you want receipt? Sick!!"

"If you are tired of plain, boring places to stay, this is the place for you! It has so much character and quirky details, you will be delighted to explore the house. The screened in porch is the best part! You can walk to the Marsh Walk, and it's just a short drive to Brookgreen Gardens and Huntington Beach State Park. The house might not be the best choice for tall travelers, but everyone else will be pleased with the details...even the bears!"

"The Surgshak is no shack! It is a charming costal retreat. The screened in front porch is so relaxing and inviting. My friends and hung out there all morning one day and my husband and his relaxed out there drinking beers the next. It is a truly dog friendly and my bulldogs were relaxed in this home away from home. There is a great trail just down the road that is minutes away and completely shaded. We enjoyed just relaxing in the very comfortable living room/furniture at the end of a day exploring. It was a very quiet location as well. The location is perfect; minutes from the Marsh Walk, restaurants, grocery, and whatever shopping you need. Brookgreen Gardens is only minutes away and worth exploring daily. The place was exactly as described, if you want a stale hotel room then stay in one, this a place to feel at home. I have no complaints, I slept on the couch only because I have different preferences than my husband who slept comfortably every night. The host Rebecca was great at communicating with us and the house was already cooled down with AC when we checked in. The house was very clean, stocked with towels and bedding provided. We had everything needed to cook and there is a Keurig and a small Coffee pot as well. If you like having a laid back vacation home than the Surfshak is sure to please. "
