"My daughter and her friend went to Hudson in order to help my wife's mother at an elderly facility. It was a big deal and extremely stressful. After a long trip from Texas and extended time to right a wrong, I looked for some place for them to stay rather than driving back to the city. I had hoped that this place would be the reprieve they deserved and needed. They sent us amazing pictures and couldn't stop talking about the staff, chef, view, and ambiance of this place. The only thing I can say is that I am extremely thankful for the way this hotel allowed me to say thank you to my daughter and her friend for what they did."
"I'm house-hunting in Hudson, so my wife and I have stayed in a few other hotels and B&Bs there. However, one night in Pocketbook and I'll definitely continue booking there.
I don't understand the complaints about the noise or rude staff, becauee we experienced the exact opposite.
The staff were warm & welcoming, and very friendly. Overnight, it was peaceful and quiet. We stayed on a Saturday night and the hotel was booked out, but besides hearing some light noise above us the next day, it was peaceful.
We stayed in the 250 sqft studio, and although on the smaller side, it was super efficient with a smart layout. Huge mirror on the wall near the exit, a mini bar, toiletries, excellent fade lighting and ample electrical outlets.
No TV, but a HUGE projector available to watch streaming channels without needing to log in.
The only caveat is when you lower the projector screen, you're also covering up the outside light from getting in.
It was a Saturday night, and during check-in we were told about Clutch, a cool 'dance club'space in the lower level. The DJ was phenomenal!
Checkout was a breeze and Alice was super friendly and accommodating.
I LOVE Pocketbook and will definitely return again and again!"
"we had to change rooms after a difficult night trying to sleep.
A/C unit was directly above room on roof and the noise and vibrations was very annoying.
We change rooms and received a courtesy discount."
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saugerties - Hudson Valley by IHG
8/10 Good
"The hotel and rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff that checked us in were great. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the continental breakfast. We got down with more than an hour left and all of the hot food was gone. After about 25 mins an employee put out more cinnamon rolls but they were frozen. They did have cereal and some whole wheat toast and English muffins, but the selection was sparse and very disappointing."
"I booked this vacation on Expedia and on arrival check-in was quick and smooth. Everyone was very helpful. I liked the casual decor of the place and our interactions with the staff, along with their professionalism,. The airstreams are a perfectly sized and clean with all the appropriate memories as advertised.
Suggestions I would make are ice machines. It was over 100 degrees both nights I was there. My second suggestion would be a plugin induction cooker either built in or rentable for a meal prep.
It was pouring rain both nights I was there so cooking outside had to be abandoned.
And by the way people it’s dog friendly -amazing!"
