This was an older hotel that has been updated. It is a grand place to stay. A nice little village unique in every respect. The rooms and the bathroom were very large. Well worth staying here. The German restaurant next door was excellent--great service and great food. However, stay away from the Greek restaurant down the street. I had gyros, they were burnt to a crisp.

Wonderful Hotel
We really enjoyed this hotel. It has a lot of personality and the staff were wonderful. Everything was comfortable and very clean. The general location is really good. It's surrounded by a number of stores and restaurants. If you walk up the nearby hillside (towards the church on the hill), there's even the nicest little beer garden on the hill w/ a great view of the town and mountains. Parking is a little tough, but there is parking behind the hotel and there's a nearby underground garage about 100ft away, which costs around 5 EUR per day. We love this hotel and we'd highly recommend to anyone visiting.

Lots of character, excellent staff
A really cool hotel, very characterful and charming. The staff were amazing. The place really does need some TLC, such great architectural features and they are definitely showing wear and tear. And don't be fooled by the "free onsite parking" - there are 5 spaces in their "parking lot" and you have to use the public garage. Luckily, it's right there and only 5 Euros per day.

The hotel has sufficiant signage regarding coronavirus safety/mitigation steps, to include hand sanitizer as you walk in. The receptionist greeted us and provided helpful information on our rooms, wi-fi and breakfast.

Disappointing
The room was outdated with damaged furniture. The sauna had no towels, and there are only two towels in the room. They wanted extra for the towels to be used in the sauna. Plenty of better stays available for the price.. would not recommend nor stay here ever again. I will admit the breakfast is good, but ensure your booking has breakfast included and you can prove it. I was not the only one surprised with an extra breakfast charge when I thought I booked with breakfast, unfortunately my booking didn’t specifically say one way or the other.

Great location in the middle of Garmsich. Staff was friendly enough. The hotel is old and the rooms show some age, but it was an overall pleasant experience. It was annoying that my room didn't have any soap or shampoo, the containers were empty. Still, its a cool old hotel, if a little spooky. If there is a haunted hotel in Garmsich, its this one.

I liked that it was nicely painted and decorated. Like traditional Bavarian houses. The inside was really nice.

Atlas Grand is the place to stay
Quick ski trip to Garmisch. Atlas Grand was a perfect fit for us. Lots to do in the area. Has dinner there our last night and was blown away! Thanks for a fun trip.

The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The views were fantastic and the staff were amazing and accommodating to my dogs and also my allergies. I would definitely stay here again.

Majestic Atlas Grand Hotel
Beautiful antique hotel. Very quaint and the views of the Alps were majestic! Only down side- they did not have AC, although it states they had on the hotels.com website.

The staff were amazing. We were there for my wifes birthday and they sang happy birthday to her and sent up some complimentary champagne. Our room had a picturesque view of the mountains so every morning we would watch the sun come up from our balcony. Food was really good too. I recommend doing the breakfast buffet. They are also very dog freindly and treated our dog like royalty.

Great Quick Bavarian Experience
Just a quick night in Garmisch-Partenkirchen to go skiing the next day. The service was great and the hotel is full of history (really old and Bavarian). The spa / sauna was very cool if you’re into that.

This hotel is excellently located in what I want to call the historical side of Garmisch Partenkirchen. We were set up on the 3rd floor where we had an amazing view of the mountains and city from our porch. The hotel provided all that was expected of a good hotel. We did not realize how close our porch neighbors were though and this unfortunately led up to our room reeking of cigarette smoke until our neighbors went back inside and we re-aired out our room. It appears that the cleaning crew isn't very thorough either because we found 2 empty beer bottles, an empty beer can, a blanket, and an empty cigarette box left on our porch. Otherwise, I felt like this was a very fancy and fun place to stay and I would still recommend it to others. The staff were very kind, considerate, and helpful and all spoke very good English.

The hotel and staff were great! The only thing I would warn about was that if you're there on a Sunday morning the church bells are crazy loud and go on for what seams like eons in the morning.

The hotel is 16th-century updated recently to accommodate modern sensibilities. Breakfast is spectacular. The public areas are antique and elegant - staff is friendly, helpful, multilingual. building is spectacular.

False advertising, beware!!!
NO air conditioning and NO WI-FI as was advertised! We could get spotty WI-FI in lobby some times. Even on the free lobby computer, the desk clerk that we asked could not get wi-fi to work!! This is a big deal if you want to book things to do or get on Internet to check menus, reservations, or have connection with follow-on hotels! Also, NO air conditioning or vents so prepare to open windows (which is a problem if the German band is playing outside your family's window late at night!) Furthermore, the room key needs to be put into a switch at the entrance to your room to make any electricity work in your room. This was a huge problem because every time you left the room with key, there was no access to lights for others!! Also, everything in your mini fridge would get warm every time you would go out for the day, because the fridge would turn off!!! (Yogurt, baby milk, all had to be tossed out!!) Oh, and about the pool...it is a "natural pool", which means that it has algae and grass and plants and ??? growing in it! I can guarantee that we would never stay in another Atlas Hotel in our frequent travels. I honestly feel like the hotel actually overcharged us for our stay, as they actually mis-led us by lying to us. We are just a small family, trying to go on a special vacation for our daughter's birthday. . I

Great historic place in the heart of Partenkirchen
We received a warm welcome with champagne and a smiling face. We felt very at home; breakfast was great and the location can't be beat.
