We had an unusual first trip to Gatlinburg as everything was closed due to COVID19. But that didn't stop us from having a wonderful weekend meeting family and catching up! We enjoyed pool tournaments and setting new high scores on the arcade game and soaking in the hot tub on the rainy day. We took a walk in the neighborhood (and saw 3 bears!), and walked in Gatlinbury and got delicious Italian take out on the sunny day. Watching movies, playing games, and snuggling in with family in this cute house made for a great stay.
The house was not at all what the pictures portrayed. It was dirty. 2 outlets had electrical
House dirty, did not look anything like the pictures online. Hot tub cover tore up. An electrical shortage. Electrician had to come replace 2 plugs. Not enough towels. Overall I would rate the house at a 1.
Very easy to rent! Property owners were great to work with. Open communication and quick to respond!

Not Horrible, but not great
To start, the property was not clean when we were there to check in. I was told to understand due to the holiday (Thanksgiving). My only issue with that is that we had to pay a premium for the holiday. So we told them do not rush, we want it clean. We planned our 9 hour drive to arrive there and walk in and relax.
Online it says there is cable, which I didn't care, because I was not there to watch tv, but there is not cable or satellite, only the Roku. Which if you don't have any subscriptions, it is not good. Would have appreciated having it on Thanksgiving day to watch the parade, or in the evening when it was raining. But not a deal breaker.
When you walk in, you realize that Glamour Shots did the photos, because it looked so beautiful and spacious in the pictures, when you walk in, not so much. The painted floors look dirty, but the water spots on the walls tell the real story. The deck rails are rotting, the rail where you park is rotted through at the base, so do not trip and fall and hope the rail will save you. The rear door on the main level, was very difficult to lock, you actually had to lift the door to get it to lock. Such a great feature when you have a small child, and bears in the same area. Bears were great to see, but you should be able to secure the house easily to keep everyone safe.
The main floor restroom, besides from being difficult to shower in, seemed like the rug had never been changed or cleaned. The comforter smelled musty. There was a stain on the side of the sheet, possibly blood or chocolate. The main bedroom TV did not work either. You could manually turn it on, but the streaming device did not work. The wall mounted fireplace, you could turn on manually but not control. The lights didn't work either.
It was nice to have a pool table downstairs, where the door was almost impossible to close. The remote did not work the tv, only the roku functions. Moisture spots on the walls.
Outside, the view was great unless you looked down. It looked like a landfill was being started at the base of the house. Broken mirrors, beer cans, grilling utensils, and on and on.
But there is a hot tub. Which was not on when we got there, so I found the breaker and turned it on. The only problem is, it is at the front door, where you can look at your car and your neighbors. Oh but it gets better, there is a camera right above the hot tub.
If you want to charge a premium, you should provide premium.
We had a great trip. It's was peaceful and quiet. Make sure you don't leave food in your cars. 2 bears broke into my friends truck to get the snacks inside.
We had a blast there! Everything was so nice and clean. The decorations were so pretty and overall the cabin it’s self was beautiful. The property manager had great communication.

Giving honest feedback
Attempted to give some helpful feedback to the property owners of the needs for the location to assist with future temporary tenants. After a week of leaving the below opportunities, I have yet to receive a response. I waited a week in case there were any outlying personal reasons to not respond to feedback or acknowledge opportunities.
"I don't know the last time you actually were at your chalet but you may need to set your eyes on it.
The place was not dusted (under the table in living room had a layer of dust with hand prints).
The bottom deck had mass amounts of poison ivy growing on the wall that I had to make sure my kids stayed away from.
The frezer drawer had old food like spilled milk or ice cream in it and so we never used that for storage.
The door to the back porch wouldn't lock on the bolt and the lock on the door was the only thing that locked...but barely. You could see that it was pushed against prior and with the amount of bears we saw this weekend, it was a concern.
We never got the coffee pot to work again and had to pour boiling water over the grinds.
Again, the tv downstairs and we never found the remote for the bottom left bedroom.
We couldn't play pool because either the 10 or 11 ball was cracked and unusable."
We had a great time at Zurich Hus. It is super cute and cozy. We spent the week of spring break there with our three teenage boys. The house has everything you need: hot tub, smart TVs, good WiFi, extra blankets, and more. It’s close enough to Gatlinburg and the Smokies that you have easy access, but just far enough away from the traffic. Loved and would stay again!
Beautiful property! We really loved the stay, the decor is fantastic! Great views and close to town. It was clean and well kept. We would definitely recommend staying here!
Property was perfect! Had a blast on our trip and had plenty of room to unwind after a full day out and about. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again!
