The location was good for train travel. Staff were very helpful.major construction on front street. my room was a very small single and it was very clean but window opened to inner court of air conditioners ( or something), so there was constant low grade.hum. perfectly adequate hotel.The woman on the desk was excellent.

All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful
The hotel is undergoing a major refurbishment and looking amazing.
The only minor downside to our stay was the air conditioning/ heating not working as a consequence of the refurbishment. The brilliant staff had a portable heater put in our room within minutes.
Excellent service from excellent staff.
Looking forward to staying again.

"Had a great stay at the Royal Whitby. Wonderful views of the abbey and harbour. Easy to walk to the harbour and the abbey if you want to try the 199 steps. Lots of great seafood restaurants nearby.
