About this property
House on the shores of Loch Shiel in Historic Glenfinnan, Monument and Viaduct
- Number 4 is a charming two-bedroom end-of-terrace cottage, located on the shores of Loch Shiel in the historic and picturesque village of Glenfinnan. Just 17 miles west of Fort William along the breath-taking Road to the Isles, the property enjoys one of the most scenic settings in the the village.
From the front of the cottage, you are greeted with truly spectacular, uninterrupted views across Loch Shiel— the outlook is nothing short of captivating. To the rear, the cottage continues to impress with peaceful views to the surrounding hills.
Inside, the cottage provides a warm and inviting space with a log burner for cosy nights in and ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. With two comfortable bedrooms, it’s perfectly suited for couples, small families, or anyone seeking a quiet escape surrounded by nature.
Despite its peaceful setting, the cottage is conveniently located within walking distance of all local amenities in Glenfinnan, including the Glenfinnan Monument and the Glenfinnan Viaduct , offering the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility.
Glenfinnan itself is steeped in history and natural beauty, but it also holds a special appeal for Harry Potter fans. Loch Shiel famously featured as the “Black Lake,” while the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct—often referred to as the Harry Potter Bridge—is just a short walk away. Here, you can watch the world-famous Jacobite Steam Train pass over the arches, a magical experience that draws visitors from around the globe.
Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat, a base for exploring the Highlands, or a location rich in cinematic and historical interest, Number 4 offers a rare opportunity to experience it all from a truly unforgettable setting.
The cottage is set over two storeys. Upstairs you’ll find two bedrooms — one double and one twin with full-size single beds — along with a modern bathroom featuring a walk-in shower.
Downstairs offers a comfortable lounge with Smart TV, full Wi-Fi and a log burner for cosy evenings (first basket of logs and kindling provided). The well-equipped kitchen/diner includes an oven and hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and dining table. A separate utility area has a washing machine and tumble dryer — ideal for longer stays.
Patio furniture is available outside, perfect for enjoying the view on sunny days.
For families, we can provide a high chair, travel cot and fire guard on request. One child under 2 stays free of charge.
