We definitely book this for the novelty value of staying on a beautiful old ship. Check in was an effort. No one was around to answer the door. It was 20minutes before we got in and only because other guests came back. Even though the portholes were closed the rain leaked through alot and some of our stuff got a bit damp. Overall the room was clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was tasty and it was a fun stay. The ship needs some TLC and maintenance.

Staying on a ship with an interesting history was a refreshing change for us. It was an easy walk from central station, and an easy walk into the city centre and old town.

Nice easy check in room was clean and tidy this is an old boat , but I did think most things were just ok , there is heating in the room pity it’s not on , the boat is lovely and well lite up at night pity the curtains dont block the light out , there is no bar or restaurant available, and you are not allowed to walk on the upper deck , I bet this place was fantastic a few years ago but definitely needs an upgrade , shops and restaurants are not far away

Unique hotel!

Such a unique and cool hotel! Room was big and clean. Location was good too, with a short walk to the city centre. Check in after hours was a little tricky but got there in the end!

The Viking boat was lovely, the room was clean, easy check-in, we were late due to the flight being delayed, had to call the phone, which was on reception to get our key card, which was no issue. Breakfast was lovely and highly recommended. I wish we had, had more time there. I will definitely book again.

Great hotel for my short trip. Only downside was being unable to get into my room on the second day. A quick call got the card reactivated so only a minor problem. Room was comfy and a good size, clean and tidy. Breakfast options were very good, from meats, cheese ect to cereals and yoghurts. I'll definitely return to Gothenburg and I'd definitely stay here again.

AMAZING!! Love the decorations, cabine/boat vibe, cosy and very clean cabine/room. Great and very functional bathroom/toilet. Breakfast was great and good variety of food. Easily accessed location and short walking distance to the main areas. The only thing is that I have not seen anyone at the reception but they have a phone at the entrance for any issues.

We stayed here for two separate nights, enjoyed both stays very unique experience, other than on second night there was a broken flashing light outside, i slept through it but my husband struggled, there is lots of unique features to this ship that you can go round and explore, we even went up on top deck and had a walk around. Beds are comfy, Great location for everything in gothenburg city, near to shops bus station and train stations, what more could you ask for

At check-in (only via phone call) we were surprisingly informed that the hotel had stopped serving any breakfast. It would have been useful to know this earlier. Otherwise, the hotel is nice and clean with a great location.

Try something different for a change

Very Pleasant experience. I chose it as it was different from al other luxury hotels in the area, and I was not disappointed. I would recommend this to all who want to try something different. They will not be disappointed. Check in was done over the phone but went smoothly.

Nice hotell. Little shabby but charming. It is a big boat, but sturdy and safe. Comfortable. Carpets in the corridors need to be cleaned or better changed. I wish carpets were removed from the rooms, I am allergic to wall to wall carpets ‘cos they collect dust and produce a tiny fractures of synthetic cells in the air, and I don’t want to breathe that. Breakfast is simple and boring, I stayed there from Wednesday to Monday and it was same boring breakfast every single day, no sausages, no bacon. Cold eggs from yesterday, jams, 3 types of bread, a toaster, old stiff cucumbers and tasteless tomatoes, one cheap cheese. But hotel was very quiet and relaxing.

Here’s what you need to know: -the price reflects that this is not a fancy place -the ship lists hard to the side, which can be jarring -there is a decent basic breakfast -the shared bathrooms don’t look great; pay a little more to get your own bathroom I’ve stayed here several times because it’s a budget place I can stay while I’m in Gothenburg alone or with a friend. I expect that if the price is significantly lower, there’s a reason, and I accept that. Check in is weird the first time because you’ll do it via their land line, but it’s actually pretty easy. The breakfast person was super nice and attentive, too.

One of the standout features of this hotel is that it is actually a ship, which adds a unique charm and a touch of adventure to the stay. The location is superb, as it is within walking distance from the city center, making it easy to explore all the local attractions. Additionally, being right next to the ferry terminal made it incredibly convenient for us to get around. The breakfast was okay and provided a decent start to the day, though it didn't stand out as particularly exceptional. However, there was one significant downside to our stay. Despite placing a request for room cleaning on our door, our room was not cleaned for the entire three days of our stay. This was quite disappointing and impacted our overall comfort.

Our room was neglected. There is lack of detail in the service, and such a unique venue deserves much more attention. For eg, the room is done, and towels changed, every 3 days. Having said that, evening dinners were decent.
