"Closing times for the pool and arcade seemed to be all Willy nilly so that was a bit annoying with children but otherwise it was a great stay!"

"My wife and I stayed for 2 nights while celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. We loved the idea of staying at a unique property and were not disappointed. Robert, the innkeeper and owner, was excellent and provided a nice breakfast for us, as well as, history about the mansion and Dubuque Iowa in general. While the property does exhibit it's age, it's character was everything we had hoped for. We also loved that the location was central to the downtown area and many businesses were within walking distance. We will surely stay here again when we are in the Dubuque area."

"Place is new, modern and clean. Staff needs better management. I called to request a steamer and was told I had to get it from the front desk. Once I get there they couldn’t find the steamers and said they would arrange for someone to bring one to our room. We requested extra towels and that also took at least half an hour to arrive. Staff were on their personal phones, some had a very unprofessional, unkept appearance. The cafe was okay. One barista was great but the next night a different person made our drinks and it was not the same. Pastries were not that good. But they had a nice, large seating area and board games. The gym was also nice. It had enough equipment for a good workout. We did have an uncomfortable experience with a housekeeper who seemed to be lurking and watching through the glass door. This is about a 30min drive to downtown Galena. Would be nice if they had chargers for electric vehicles."

"Room was very clean cleaning staff very courteous. The breakfast bar was just perfect for a nights stay at that budget. Didn’t have the opportunity to check out the bar and restaurant but had heard it’s very nice. If we’re in the Dubuque area again, we will definitely stay at this motel."
