Do not book this place!!! You will feel disrespected and humiliated after your stay. They double book the hotel for guests and weddings at the same time!! Very strange and I don’t know how they get away with this! Basically you pay to use the open area and amenities of the hotel, but every day after 4 PM, they shut down the open area completely, and they won’t even let guess to walk to the lobby. No one will take responsibility for this and they literally ask you to leave the lobby and not interrupt with the wedding!! It’s very frustrating and there’s not much you can do. Remember, if you’re sitting at a nice table outside in your hotel, having a drink and people walk in from outside, staff will come to you and ask you to move and seat elsewhere because other people would want to seat and eat dinner. It’s humiliating in front of other people. I’m writing this because I know people spend money and go to this beautiful island to enjoy their time, and I don’t want what happened to us to happen to anybody else’s. Do yourself a favor and look for another place.

Excellent location with stunning views. Excellent attentive staff, especially Costa the manager. Th room is huge and beautiful with tiles floor. Hot tub in the front. Great breakfast. I would stay there again in a heart bit.

What a view... That is predominantly what you are paying for here but it is stunning! The prices in the budda bar are over inflated so best to find other places to eat and drink! Breakfast choice was good and room was spacious and cleaned daily but definitely not 5 star in our experience 🌟🌟🌟

The property has awesome view of Caldera. Standard Room Suite was basic given it was rated 4 stars. Shared pool did not have any umbrella or covering above to protect from sun and enjoy in the day time. Great breakfast, out door lounge, and view of the caldera.

La Maltese was a perfect spot for us. There were 4 of us- 2 moms and 2 16 year old girls. We stayed in from 107. The room was beautiful, big, comfortable, and very clean. We had a beautiful view of the caldera. The hotel was centrally located- perfect location. It was walking distance to Fira (about 20 min). There were many places to go out to eat around the area. At night, the girls would sit in the jacuzzi. The breakfast at the restaurant that came with the room was delicious- a lot to choose from. The host/hostess of the hotel was so helpful, called a cab for us when needed, gave suggestions on where to visit, etc. I would definitely stay again.

Our Family Villa was made up of 2 separate rooms that don't join doors but rather share a balcony area. There were about 2 levels of stairs we had to walk up to our rooftop to enjoy the plunge pool. The plunge pool/jacuzzi was however sharing a glass partition with the behind neighbors who just watched us swim? It was a bit awkward. Well over 100 stairs to reach the lobby. Rooms were not well kept, several appliances in the room that didn't work such as speakers, a phone, a clock. Great price, we didn't stay in the room much however and wouldn't return to be honest.

The property was lovely, with incredible views and a nice setup. Our suite was spacious and had plenty of room for the 4 of us, and had a nice outdoor space. We really enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the sunset. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and took care of everything we needed. It was pricey but not as much as some neighboring properties, so I thought it was a good value. The location is nice as well -- close to plenty of restaurants and in a central location for getting around the island. I would definitely recommend staying here.

It was a pleasant experience. The views were stunning. There was a wedding/ party every day at the hotel but it was all very respectfully done and dusted by 11pm. Breakfast was good and housekeeping excellent.

Excellent location, magnificent views. The suite was lovely, clean and comfortable Most importantly the staff are excellent. The manager Mr Aggelos personally ensured that all needs are met. I would like to thank him and thank all his staff for the great hospitality. Because of his great personality, professionalism and huge efforts to make our stay as pleasant as possible We have enjoyed our holiday and stay in every sense.

The location and views are excellent! The front desk staff and managers were extremely nice, helpful and pleasant! Anita was Amazing! she accommodated all my requests and was very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable! So was the manager Angelo who was very pleasant helpful and friendly! He offered me to stay at the Villas which were brand new he also took me to tour the villas and he even showed me how to download driving directions on Google and use it offline because I didn't have WiFi on the road. Service was a bit slow for breakfast but the staff was very friendly! I will definitely Recommend La Maltese Estate, Buddha Bar Beach in Santorini. Very Good Experience! will stay there again! K

Angelo, Annita, and the entire staff were amazing. Very friendly and proactive to delight their guests and arrange any accomodation or tour of necessary. From the moment we arrived, Angelo made us feel like family in his hotel. Wonderful breakfasts daily with magnificent views. The sea view villas are not walking distance, so the hotel transfers you back and forth, but the wait was never long, and we enjoyed the privacy. Thank you La Maltese!

The view was the only thing that was worth it. The room I paid for wasn’t given to me and they still haven’t given a good explanation! I was supposed to have a Junior Suite with view and a Hot tub, which are below the main building of the hotel. The pic on the reservation show’s exactly what is below the main building. Instead, I was given a decrepit dirty room, that smelled bad because the walls of the bathroom we’re moldy. The bath leaked everywhere, with rusty handles and vanity tap broken. The bed mattress felt like a box spring was completely uncomfortable. And to make matters worse I wasn’t able to sleep because an electrical beep kept on going on and off all night long and day! The furniture and appliances were dirty. I’ve never experienced such bad service by a hotel, their employees are friendly, but they aren’t truthful, they pretend to not know how i was given such, room. I actually told them they should be ashamed to even rent such room, but you can tell they don’t care. Last night they moved me into another hotel they own, it wasn’t part of the original reservation, which a at first look it looked fine but the sink didn’t drain and it smelled like the sewer and they had ants. I just couldn’t wait to leave this awful place. I do not understand how Buddha Bar can be associated with such a business with such low standards, what a dishonest place! I will review this place on different websites because travellers should be warned. PEOPLE BEWARE!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We arrived at the hotel late from the ferry with two small sleepy children and no one was at the front door to help us from the taxi to the lobby. When we entered the lobby the concierge seemed surprised that we were there and called another woman, who then called the manager. The manager came a 1/2 hour later and said (after another 1/2 hour of “checking”), that he couldn’t find our pre-paid reservation and had NO ROOMS. He said he would put us up in another 5 star property but when he got to the hotel it was a much inferior room and resort. I paid $525 per night for a superior caldera room with a hot tub and the room they put me in was $330/night with no view and leaking water everywhere. I was not refunded the difference and all Expedia gave me for the trouble was a $100 coupon as a consolation prize. The hotel is a complete scam and I cannot believe that Expedia does business like this. The manager and his team are con artists.

I would warn anyone against staying here based on how they treated me. When I showed up, they did not honor my reservation which I had in place and paid fin advance for 6 months. When I called Expedia at the checkin to help resolve the problem, they refused to talk with them and hung up on them. As a result, the hotel moved me to another hotel which had much lower quality amenities and no infinity pool. I had a room with one bed instead of two. La Maltese has kept my money and not refunded anything- even though they clearly moved me to a lower quality hotel. I am still arguing with them through Expedia to get a refund. I would warn anyone against staying here.

Beautiful views!
The hotel was in a great spot, and had amazing views! The included breakfast was a nice touch, but the service made it difficult to enjoy as much as it could have been enjoyed. The Wifi was available but strength varied as you moved around the space, given the cave-like properties of the room. The hotel was helpful in planning activities.

Beautiful setting but the hotel simply wasn’t ready to open to the public and the rooms which hadn’t been maintained through the winter months were not suitable to accommodate guests. I in fact contacted expedia and have a case number to support this because my room, which I refused to stay in, was riddled with dampness. I have photographic evidence of water dripping through the bathroom ceiling.

Through our experience we proceed at the end of each season the heavy maintenance and our yearly soft renovation. One month before our hotel opens for public we start the maintenance in order to be ready. This year in Santorini we had rainfall that was the same quantity of water combined the previous 3 years in just one month period. The painting materials that we use was specialized to let the wall to "breath" in order to avoid any kind of infections like mold. This type of painting combine with constant humidity at 95% plus rain created that you have seen in your room. This was the worst winter in Santorini and all the hotels in Santorini was affected. Although due to the reason we respect our guests and their valued vacations we had offer you a complimentary upgrade room for your stay. We are looking to welcome you again in the near future and meet your expectations.

Stunning views from the hotel, very nice staffs. But, the conditions of the hotel is not as good as it should be. Not clean jacuzzi water ( many dead bugs bodies in it), failed telephone, even no cup in room! The restaurant in hotel is pricey. Most guests only ordered a drink there, and out for dinner outside.

From arrival to check out, we had the most wonderful experience at this hotel! The staff is beyond helpful, and not not mention, charming. They helped us book activities and transportation for anything we needed, and was prompt on everything. The breakfasts included with the room were DELICIOUS. The only thing that was rough was that our bathroom was so damp and nothing seemed to dry! That being said, it’s probably more just to do with the climate— and they were sure to get us fresh robes and towels as we needed them! I’d highly recommend staying here... oh did I mention walking out on our balcony to the caldera views was STUNNING every morning & evening, but was located well enough to allow us to get to town quickly/cheaply. 5 stars!

We are grateful to have the opportunity to stay at this property. Staff went above and beyond to take care of us. The first night we watched the most amazing sunset enjoying some of the best sushi we’ve ever had at Buddha Bar restaurant. We sat at a tall table and in front of us were lower tables wuth champagne on ice and hookah with lights that change colors. Our room was clean and comfortable and nicely appointed. Breakfast the next morning at Buddha bar restaurant was delicious with many great choices. Another day we had breakfast delivered to our room. This was convenient and equally as tasty Writing this review makes me miss being there. I want to go back!

We were booked in for two nights as we were there for a wedding. Most amazing and beautiful venue for a wedding. The food the sunset the drinks all 5 star. Our room was mediocre it has a smell coming from the drain which was overwhelming, we had to have our door open for over 2 hours to air it. My husband spoke the manager who said he would look into the problem but nothing came from it. He said he couldn’t smell anything, but the rest of the wedding party could and no one could remain in the room. For the price, some of the rooms were a little worn and could do with some revamp. Other than that it was an amazing venue for the two nights we were there.

We would like to note that as soon as you had inform us that there was a problem with your room we sent our housekeeping and our maintenance personnel to check your room. As a standard procedure we clean the room with a strong chemical to remove any odor since you were outside of the room. When the manager arrived there was only the odor of the chemical and he also noted that at the moment the odor from the chemicals they overlap the odor from anything else. As you return to the room everything was in optimal status and you enjoyed the rest of your stay with us. We are looking forward to welcome you in our premises.

Excellent staff and customer service. Our room was damaged but Aggelos did tremendous efforts to make our vacation nice despite having hotel technical problems. The restaurant is very nice and it is the best place to observe sunset. Highly recommend it!

Best view in Santorini
The staff is very friendly, location amazing, upbeat atmosphere with music 24/7, nice pool, bar, and restaurant. Free upgrade at check in! This is a great destination wish we stayed longer.

Great location of villa
We had fantastic time in Santorini. Staff of Lamaltese hotel, thank you for making our stay great. Location of villa is brilliant. Service - breakfast, drinks, cleanliness of hotel & villa, information or any other help, I found hotel staff went extra mile to make our stay better. I liked the way hotel staff took care of us in every aspect e.g. just to mention one of those, you sent big bottle of drinking water in night for villa, without even asking, and every night. Thank you for superb customer service. If we are coming to Santorini again, we know where to stay. Villa was greatly located with view and enjoyed best sunset every night. Thank you!!

Great view but anyone has access to the view
Hotel was in a great location. The bar above the hotel rooms were quiet loud late in the evening. Also we paid to have a great view of the caldera however other priests were walking past our room to take photos and not stopped by the hotel (even though there was a sign and rope for hotel guests only). We paid for a great hotel for the location but not pleasant having people pose on front of your room

Nice hotel with great views, good breakfast included and helpful staff. They overcharge for shuttle to the airport/ferry (50 Euros whereas a local taxi did it for about half that) and our room at the front of the hotel was so loud! We heard everything outside including motorcycles/cars/people and even our nextdoor neighbors. It was nice but not worth the price in my opinion.

Good comfortable villa & superlative views
Overall quite good. Arrived around 1 am due to there being just one person at the airport to check passports for the whole flight!! But night manager very cordial & professional and helped us well. The villa is a little away from the main hotel. There are steep steps going down first and then steep climb to get to the villa (not for the ones with weak knees) but the view more than makes up for the effort. Best view in Santorini - the entire caldera & lovely sunset. Clean villa with all facilities (no microwave) & good quality toiletries. Breakfast very upmarket (not the usual buffet) with dishes made to order from a select menu. Good quality ingredients and top notch service. The only slight complaint was that we asked for a bottle of white wine on the night of arrival and unknown to us were given to most expensive one on the menu & were charged 65 Euros for that bottle on checkout. Would be happier if somebody would have let us know!!

Perfect hotel with stunning views
From the moment we arrived until our departure our stay was simply magnificent. The staff were warm friendly and helpful to the point we were made to feel as though we were the most important people in the world. The accommodation was homely, spotless and extremely comfortable to stay in. The views from the accommodation were unbelievable and even after 3 days walking out onto the balcony took our breath away. We cannot wait to go back and will definitely be staying here again.

Great location
Location perfect being out of main towns but still walkable distance. Nice local restaurants. Hotel staff helpful although a few end of season hiccups. Honeymoon room was nice albeit small room but always clean with private balcony. Definitely go for the sea view rooms. Local surroundings we're stunning!

Good breakfast, excellent sunset view. friendly staff upgraded our room(junior suite) to master suite which is v spacious with 2 queenie bed and 2 storey. however , the beds were short. besides, there was mouldy smell in the room which make us not willing to stay long inside the room. no telephone inside room until request. no bathtub in bathroom and temperature of water was not stable.
