"Stayed at this cabin with my wife and 5 year old daughter for our summer vacation. This was our second trip to Lake Nahwatzel and some how was even better than the first! The cabin is perfect! I said it perfect! From the moment I reached out to the property manager ( Kim) to the very last minute at the house as my daughter sat on the stairs crying " daddy I dont wanna leave!" Kim was great, very promt, informative and kind. I really appreciated that. So thank you Kim! the cabin is just that a cabin, until you arrive and realize its really just a slice of heaven that the owners are kind enough to share. It had everything you needed for a week. Pots, pans, cooking utensils, grill, outside seating you name it. it does not have a dishwasher, washer or dryer and the water is not drinkable.... If those things are a deal breaker then maybe this is not for you. But for my family it was everything we wanted and more. The lake if you have not been, is beautiful, maybe the best in the state. Clean, warm and just beautiful. My daughter swam, played and fished until she passed out! Only to do it again the next day. Do your self and your family a favor and book now, its worth every penny. We are already planning a trip back next year. Sincerely: The Apperson Family. "

"A pleasant surprise to find the accommodation was actually as nice as the photos (which is sadly rare in a lot of holiday homes). Very clean, nice, and comfortable, And roomier than expected. Pip and Tanya, at the pub restaurant next door, were welcoming and helpful when we arrived and friendly throughout our stay. Plus the pizzas were huge and tasty. There was a great little band playing to about 6pm on the Sunday evening we arrived, and it was quiet and peaceful for the rest of our stay. It's a 1minute walk from the front door to water, and the lake was great for paddleboarding. My only complaint is that it was advertised as having Wi-Fi, but half the time it wouldn't connect, and when it did it constantly disconnected within minutes. Which was frustrating and did ruin plans as we had arranged a family video call and I missed out on income as I was unable to work the few hours a day I had planned to do. I did message the owner about it being an issue but it didn't improve. So, if you need Wi-Fi, this isn't the place. But if you don't, this is a great little getaway! "

"My family was very happy with our stay at the Elk House. I understand why this location has such high reviews. The home was spotlessly clean, comfortable, attractive, and was in a quiet, relaxing location. I wish that we had seen elk during our stay, but it was still nice to sit on the front porch to enjoy the view. (Be forewarned that the large field surrounding has many slugs lying in the damp grass in the early morning.)There is a master bedroom on the main floor that has a queen bed. There is an open loft upstairs that had a queen bed and a twin day bed. The day bed also had a hideaway bed underneath that could be pulled out for a second twin bed. I had brought pots and pans for cooking which was unnecessary as the kitchen was very well supplied with anything we would need to fix and serve meals. We would love to return to stay at the Elk House again. Thanks! "
