"Clifden, Abbeyglen castle and this part of the west coast of Ireland are absolutely stunning. Don’t miss the Prosecco Welcome and the hotel owners talk on the history of the local area and Abbeyglen Castle itself. It was absolutely fascinating, occasionally humorous and brought everything to life. The owner remembered our names from the moment we were introduced. Very rare! I’ve travelled globally for business 2 out of 4 weeks for the past 15 years. I’ve stayed in some fantastic hotels around the world. Our stay at Abbeyglen castle was the most personal and best customer experience I’ve had anywhere."

"Amazing hospitality. Something with the heat needed to be replaced and it was done right away. They were incredibly kind. I’m not sure I will go that far west again as it’s so far from things; however, I would recommend to anyone and everyone with kindness. The property is well maintained, clean and roomy. The only negative thing I can come up with is that the living room is very small with all the furniture but that is the only negative thing I could say and that’s more of just my opinion. Check them out and enjoy the area. It’s breathtaking especially at sunset."

"The host communicated well despite time differences. The property is exactly as described and was a lovely place to stay. The views were ever changing and all beautiful. We had a little trouble understanding the heating system the first day, but there is a local contact provided. "

"Great residence, fabulous countryside we really enjoyed our stay. The only downside was no Wifi, and a very poor mobile connection, some days we had to drive to Roundstone (12km away) to make calls to our family and undertake banking. This may be a serious drawback for people wishing to do business communications. Overall we had a great time , and the host was excellent during the storms at the beginning of our stay."
