As with most inner city rooms in Amsterdam, ‘compact and bijou’ but no complaints. All facilities are functional, clean and tidy. There’s a lift that is quiet, which is good given the stairs are like all in Amsterdam are really steep. Good location for anyone wanting to explore more of the outer canals etc. and is away from the bars enough to be quiet.

8/10 Very good! (1,004 reviews)
My stay at this hotel got off to a rough start. The area near the elevator looked rundown, which immediately gave me bad vibes. When we got to our room, we were greeted by a dead fly stuck to the curtain. Being so visible, it made me question how clean the room really was. I didn't want it to ruin the trip, so we headed out to spend some time away from the hotel. But when we got ready for bed and pulled back the covers, we found a stain. I tried to convince myself it was just detergent, but lifting the blanket revealed it was clearly a blood stain. I wanted to leave right then. Expedia wasn't much help — just offered empty words that went nowhere. It was around 11 PM, so we packed our bags and went to the front desk to ask for a different room while I started looking for another hotel. The staff said they were fully booked and couldn't switch us. The best they could do was flip the mattress over and change the sheets. We accepted, but we were still completely grossed out. The bathroom wasn't very clean either. It had stains on wall on top of the toilet. They really need to step up their cleaning standards. If you must stay here, I suggest checking everything before it's too late to get a clean room. On top of all that, you can hear everything happening in the hallway and through the walls. The room itself is run-down — the ceiling and walls are in need of repairs.
