Amazing staying
Our staying was amazing, all staff are great, very nice people, great service, very good breakfast with great coffee! The hotel is only 10 min to Reykjavik downtown. We would come back to this hotel for sure!

When you dont need anything…..or want anything.
Very minimal. Two pillows, nothing that great. Breakfast was the most basic we have run into. Doors need to be checked…as they need to be pulled shut.

Additional bedding is always available on request from reception and we offer a simple continental breakfast to keep our costs low. This allows us to continue providing value for money to our guests, however our selection is regularly reviewed so we can make improvements where possible. The doors will also be checked for any essential maintenance to be carried out.

The best part about Hotel Hraun was Clare at reception. Very personable and helpful, and knowledgeable!!! She and Anita made the stay better and even very good because they took action to fix inadequacies or unpreparedness shortcomings. I would stay here again. Easy out and in from Reykjavik to south Iceland. Good choice for the itinerary I had. Not downtown.

Staff was wonderful and friendly, super clean and easily accessible to Reykjavik by car. Wonderful Breakfast which got us going in the right direction each day we stayed. Showers got hot quickly, beds were comfortable, and room was quite. Stayed in room 222, which is a triple, and well suited for our needs. Highly recommend, and would be my first Iceland option for a return visit. Great value as well.

Great location
The stay was great and location was incredibly convenient to all the places we wanted to visit. 10 mins from downtown Reykjavik and plenty of food nearby. Best part, the ice cream parlor right outside the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel for any coming to Iceland for the first time.

Great stay, would stay here again
I had a great stay at Hotel Hraun - everyone working there was very nice, my room was much bigger than expected and very clean. My bed was comfy. And the bathroom was also bigger and cleaner than expected. I had a really nice deep bathtub also which was a surprise!

Absolutely one of the cleanest properties I have ever stayed in and I’m a germ-a-phobe! The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We had a very early checkout and they made sure we had breakfast before the usual time. I only stayed here one night before my flight early the next morning, so I can’t speak to convenience of location, but our stay was very comfortable.

Great budget accommodation, Claire was helpful!
We had a lovely stay. The receptionist Claire was awesome! This is a budget accommodation, but it had everything we needed and more. The beds were plenty comfy, the water pressure good, and there was a fridge and cook plate in our room (though I think the fridge was off which I appreciate for eco reasons since we didn't need it). Breakfast was simple but delicious. The location isn't great for exploring but there were plenty of food options and it's close to the airport. They even let us store our extra luggage for 10 whole days while we drove around the Ring Road for free, despite staying one night. We would stay here again.

We were looking for an inexpensive hotel in the Reykjavik area. Hotel Hraun fit the bill. While it was very basic it met all of our needs. The rooms were clean and comfortable an included a small refrigerator, which was a nice surprise. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a happy hour each day with discounted drinks but the staff didn't complain if we brought in our own. The one thing that was disappointing was the included breakfast. There was not much offered. Just a plate with a few slices of ham and cheese, some cereal and granola and some slices of bread with butter and jam. Coffee, juice, milk and water were also available. We made it work for us, but it would have been nice if there were a few more offerings. But hey, it was an inexpensive hotel, so I guess anything included for breakfast was a plus.

Great value, exceptional staff
The hotel served our needs, given the good value. The staff all were exceptionally accommodating, providing good information and service when requested. The bar and breakfast areas were newly renovated, while the sleeping rooms were basic and fairly small. Pillows could use upgrading, but overall, the hotel was a great central location to our Iceland exploration.

The property was very accessible to the airport and the capital it was and quite reasonably priced, A simple breakfast was provided. It was the same every day but adequate. The staff was amazing very very accommodating and knowledgeable. The room was well maintained, cleaned with towels replaced daily.

Hotel Hraun — would come back again
We stayed here for a week and were very happy with the friendly staff and service. We are a family of 4 that stayed in a 2 twin and 1 queen non smoking room which had its own bathroom and plenty of closet space and blackout curtains. The room was cleaned daily. Breakfast included coffees teas toasts, cheese yogurts, fruits etc and was very good. We also took advantage of the bus right next to the hotel which took us to city within 15 min. There are few restaurants near by and an ice cream shop. It’s a great town and great hotel and we would stay here again. They also help you with excursions and have 24x7 Front desk and concierge service as well as free parking. The only issue is the bathroom sometimes has a sulfur smell but that is the case of the natural water comming from the geothermal sites which is a norm of most of the Iceland. It’s not specific to the hotel. The smell goes away after 5 minutes after finishing showering. They also have a hotel bar with local beers and spirits which we took advantage of late evenings. The area is safe to walk around as we took walks past 10pm with no issues every day. Also 1 thing to note, it looks like they changed mgt recently and are doing everything possible to make it pleasant for the guest.

Great place to land after landing in Keflavik!
Got a triple room and was very pleased — spacious, with a mini-fridge, three armchairs, private bathroom, and very comfortable beds. The woman at the desk assisted us in calling for takeout and was very helpful. Breakfast was basic but wonderful to have on site and included in hotel price. In all, a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend!

This place is nice for the price. Very clean. The room is super tiny and you can hear the traffic on the street. Convenient location to stores and restaurants and not far from the city. Otherwise we can't complain.

Room was massively hot and no way to cool the room down. It was literally an oven inside. I'm not exaggerating either! Windows could only be opened a crack. When I addressed the problem to management, they did supply a fan, but that did not help at all. I waited several hours for it to cool down and that never happened. Soaking in sweat from the massive heat, I had to go back down and speak to management again. There was no way anybody could stand the heat in that room it was so bad. They stated the hotel was completely booked and had no other rooms except one in which there was no bathroom lighting. I ended up taking it because at least that room was cool and I'd rather have a room that was bearable to be in temperaturewise than having a bathroom with lights. That is completely unacceptable. They should have never assigned either rooms to anyone if they were not acceptable for a comfortable stay. Fix the problems before trying to rent them out!

Hello, We are sad that your experience was not satisfactory. I remember this complaint and we tried as much as we could to make you comfortable (even allowing you to go to a room which was not for rent), but you are right, this was a hot day (which is quite rare in Iceland) and the sun was shining in the windows and made the room warmer than usual. Luckily we usually don't have this problem here in Iceland but I hope you will still be able to keep on the sunny side of life and that your trip in general was good. The staff and service were excellent very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a good selection of continental food. The room was compacted but we could have upgraded if we wanted too. It was clean and had a kettle and a good size shower room. The only thing that let it down was the wardrobe as there was only one shelf and no rail though there were hooks on the wall to hang clothes. I am sure if we had said something they would have sorted it.

Room was very small, but adequate, very clean and had everything we needed as we were on tours all day everyday. staff were very very helpful, and knowledgeable about local transport and meeting points. Overall a nice hotel but a little far from Reykjavik's centre.
