This was our favorite hotel in all that we stayed at during our vietnam trip. The hotel manager, ken and the entire staff made our stay memorable. Our suite, room #802 was amazing and our vip perks were generous. I would definitely stay here again should we ever visit vietnam again and i would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

Our stay at Grand du Lac Hotel was memorable from the time we checked in. Upon arrival we were greeted by the staff with a drink and they easily set up a couple of tours for us based on our preferences. Our room was great facing the street with a balcony. Breakfast offered a lot of delicious choices. Rooftop bar and hotel restaurant were top notch. But above all, the service was excellent from start to finish. Jack, Frankie and the rest of the staff really went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. If you come to Hanoi, this is the place to stay at, you won’t be disappointed.

Great location for visiting Hanoi. Just a 5-minute walk from Hoàn Kiếm Lake and the Hanoi old quarter, and a few meters from the St. Joseph Cathedral. The staff and hotel service were excellent; drinks and cold towels on arrival, ginger tea with evening fold-down service and a helpful team at the front door for anything we needed including helping stop the traffic so we could cross the street to our taxi! Grab is a local version of Uber and the hotel staff helped me set up my account so could use the ride service while in Hanoi (easy and good value). The hotel re-opened after covid in August 2023. We had an internal window room, but this was fine as we were either sleeping from jet lag or out and about around Hanoi. Breakfast was good with a variety of western and local foods and with nice views of Hanoi and the Cathedral. The road around Hoàn Kiếm Lake is closed to traffic over the weekend which made for a pleasant stroll around the lake and into the old quarter which was full of small shops, markets, bars and restaurants.

This is an absolute gem of a hotel in Hanoi! So close to the lake and the best restaurants and shops. The bets thing about the hotel is the staff. They are amazing, they will help you navigate the city, they will reccommend the be3st places to go and above all make you feel like a valued customer. A special thanks to Mr. Ken and his team. He helped us book last minute flights (due to a silly mkistake from our part, we needed to rebook them), and he made everything so easy. We will definitely be back!

We overall enjoyed our stay. The hotel is conveniently located in the old quarters and it's easy to reach a lot of the sights per foot. The staff is very helpful and supportive. They personally lead us to our room and we were treated with a small welcome gift. The rooms and breakfast offerings (compared to other hotels in the city within the same price category) are a bit lacking. The interior has seen better days. Although a fairly decent breakfast selection has been offered, the items could've been slightly higher quality.

The staff and hotel were great, we stayed on three seperate occasions during our trip in Vietnam, Staying in both the window and internal window roooms. Cannot compliment the staff enough, they were super helpfull, hotel was quiet with no road noise, easy to walk into the old quarter ( 1 min). Everything worked, clean and service perfect.

This hotel is in a great location, walking distance to most tourist attractions. The breakfast buffet included was not bad - though we only went once out of our 3 night stay as there is so much good food outside the hotel. The room is very small for vietnam standards but you really are paying for the location. The gym is small but has everything you need to get in a quick workout. My only complaint is because I booked the rooms without windows, the room was very dark including the bathroom. I would recommend installing brighter lights in those rooms as it was very hard to do my makeup (no issues for the gents).

It’s pretty good
We booked an internal room no windows as often find you can have great sleep with a blackout kind of room- we arrived late and left fairly early so that was the idea - the only downside is the paper thin doors and noisy americans shouting in the hallway at early hours.
The rooms are very comfortable- the Skybet was good for a cocktail - great staff up there.

Our first time in Hanoi and it was a great experience thanks to Ken and Kelly, who went out of their way to make sure we had a VIP experience. Kelly helped out us with our day trip to Ninh Binh by hiring a private driver for us and ensuring our safety. Ken greeted us with a warm welcome and noticed my birthday was the next day, and sent a cake to my room! Ken, Kelly and all the staff at Grand Hotel gave top-noticed service. Thank you so much!

A frequent business traveler to Asia from US, this time a family trip. The staff and property scores super high... especially the staff and their expression of the purest Asian hospitality. Nothing is ever too much trouble for anyone and usually the team here anticipates your needs instead of simply responding to them. For sure, no reason for me to look anywhere else for losing on future trips to Hanoi.

Loved this hotel. We spent two nights at this property and the stay was absolutely 5stars. The team at the team at the front were friendly and helpful.
The room was beautifully decorated and the bath products were amazing.
The breakfast buffet had a great mix of local and western dishes. My favourite breakfast dish was pho gao it was delicious. There is even Parma ham and lots of fresh vegetables and juices.
There is a beautiful patio at the front of the hotel that is perfect for chilling after dinner with a glass of wine or coffee and watching the life on street.
I will definitely stay again when I visit next.
The hotel location is perfect for exploring the old quarter.

Grand Hotel du Lac is a boutique hotel situated in the heart of the Old Quarter of Hanoi. A quiet oasis in a bustling city and all within walking distance to many points of interest for a first-time visitor.
From the moment we arrived, it was the excellent service from their entire staff that stood out. Kelly, Camellia, Trang, Lilly and Eri all provided us with best-in-class service that made us feel right at home. From the refreshing welcome drink, to the high attention to detail to ensuring we had a wonderful stay, I cannot say enough about what a treat it was for us to be there. Even their bellman - Harry and Kien made sure we made it safely to and from the hotel when we arrived.
The team here is young and energetic yet they are polished and poised. I would stay here over and over again.

Really friendly staff, knowledgeable and very attentive. We had an early flight out and they packed us breakfast in the morning. The complimentary breakfast was a great way to start our morning. The room we stayed in was on the smaller side but it had everything we needed and was well kept. The hotel is in a busy area and was very walkable. The staff gave us great suggestions, from places to eat to places to purchase souvenirs. The spa and gym were decent. The spaces aren't too big but having them available was better than not having them at all.

Staff, location and hotel were very good. I'll stay there again. Only issue I had was the rooms had no desk, but a small table and comfortable chair worked.

Very nice recently refurbished hotel, right in the heart of the town......so expect a few street noises from early morning. Room/Beds very comfortable. Only negative was shower is above the bath and as usual leaked a fair bit onto the floor. Can't comment on breakfast as had an early departure.
