"My family and I have been New Jersey beach people since my youth in the 1970's. My wife and I enjoyed taking our children there until these past couple of years when it became unaffordable, and quite frankly, elitist. We sought what I always enjoyed at the NJ shore which is a quiet and relaxing place, but one with options for some low key activities. We found that here in Avon, and specifically at the Salty Frog. The solitude of it all, the shops, the beach, and the restaurant options were all exactly what I want from a beach vacation. There was nothing to do here but completely chill out.Now, the Salty Frog and my check in experience certainly set the stage for my excellent experience. My family traveled 11 hours to arrive, and of course, going through my mind was "what if it's not what it appears to be?", "what if something goes wrong?". Well, this was alleviated during our drive when Mandy from Surf or Sound began her communication with me which was reassuring since she was going to ensure our happiness. Finally, our arrival at the Salty Frog was an experience that I have rarely had. The house was true to the pictures online, completely stocked (beyond our cooking, movie watching, and game playing capabilities), and the amenities were ample. In summary:Fantastic and quiet location - easy beach access.Fantastic house.Excellence provided by Surf or Sound.We will be back..."

"This is the second time we've stayed here, and it was just as great as last year. The location can't be beat and the views are incredible. Wonderful kitchen and the top floor is great for watching movies (on the big screen), reading, or just hanging out as a family. The owners are always accessible, and are quick to respond to any questions or concerns. The beach is just a minute away, and is one of the best in OBX. We love going in the off season - the weather is wild and most times we have the beach to ourselves. Being able to bring our four pawed children is important to us, and we're grateful that this house welcomes them. We look forward to visiting again next year!"
