"The room was lovely with a two seater sofa, spotlessly clean. Nice tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast was outstanding. Lots of choice really nice quality food and very nicely cooked. The evening meal that we had there was also very good. Nice play area for children. I would add the pub had air conditioning, fantastic in the hot weather enjoying a nice glass of wine. Lots of space in the pub, good layout with different rooms and in my opinion a big bonus plenty of parking. ...
"Location is great for us. We stayed in Room 3 in the courtyard as we had a small dog with us and they are not allowed in the Main Hotel rooms. We have stayed in this room before - its an excellent size but on the first floor. It seems to have been modernised from when we were last there which was nice. We didn't have breakfast or evening meal there as it is "hotel prices". Within walking distance of the hotel is one of the best pubs in Derbyshire - The Hollybush Inn - great beer and grub."
"Horrendous smell. Foul drains and the kitchen may have been frying in my room the smell was that strong. The walls are paper thin, if someone runs a tap the noise is piercing. Hotel is not manned most of the time. You are given an emergency number on a key ring which is not legible.
I had to sleep with my nose covered because the smell was that bad.
Staff were unhelpful on checkout. Expedia couldn’t get in touch with the hotel so fobbed me off. Never again"
"A warm welcome and comfortable, clean, spacious room. The staff couldn't be more helpful and even though the kitchen was closed because I arrived late they were good enough to offer a plate and cutlery so I could grab a Chinese from the takeaway opposite. Honestly I couldn't have asked for anything better even at twice the price."
