  • A simple remote Alaska rustic one room dry (no plumbing ) secluded 16X16 cabin with a sleeping loft on Dalton Ridge Road at mile post 254 1/2 Parks HWY. (Alaska Route 3)
    Just 5 miles north of the Town Healy and 15 miles from Denali Park.
    A get away for two surrounded by foothills and Alaska Mountain Range.
    Up on a ridge over looking the landscape. Perfect opportunity to watch for Alaska wildlife.
    A 15-20 minute hike to the lake for a viewing of Denali Mountain.
    Four wheel drive or AWD required for driving in LOW GEAR to cabin #2
    or parking below with a 15-20 minutes hike up the steep grated ridge road to cabin.
    A ride to the cabin for checking in and out is available from the lower parking area with time of arrival and departure notice.
    Cabin provides a small refrigerator/ freezer, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, table for two, upstairs sleeping loft beds (two twin/single beds with sheets, blanket and pillow.
    Cabin heated with small electric or oil heater with electric lights and outlets,
    A wash and gray water sink with 5 gals.water jug over the sink for washing. (Bring drinking or bottle water)
    Outhouse toilet is 50 feet away from cabin.
    NO indoor plumbing. No Shower
    Laundry and showers is available in the town of Healy.
    Pets are welcome with a pet fee, but CANNOT be left unattended in the cabin or on the property.
    Bring your food and eating utensils, etc...
    Town of Healy is 5 miles away with Dinning , a groceries & supplies store, gas stations, shower and laundry facility.

Nice place to stay. Host was great and helpful. Thr drive up the hill can be intimidating, especially when poor weather and rain. However, it is easier than it looks. It has a great view and is comfortable.

This property delivered exactly what it advertised. It was a remote cabin, away from everything. It was very clean and comfortable. I’m not sure the four-wheel-drive was necessary for our visit, but I could see how it could be troublesome in some situations.

This was a great, quiet, secluded cabin. We definitely needed time away from it all. The road certainly needs 4-wheel drive vehicle. Yet, the views and seclusion is well worth the price and then some. The beds were comfortable and the heater kept us toasty.

Our host, Dave, was exceedingly accommodating, Our AWD rental wasn't up to the task of getting us to our cabin. Dave promptly came down the gravel road and escorted us to an authentic log cabin that included a refrigerator, sink, microwave, lighting and outlets. The beds in the loft were comfortable and the temperature inside the cabin could be adjusted. Dave took us back down the road at our requested time and we were off to Denali National Park. This cabin truly is a pleasure to stay in (even though it did have outside commodes...which were clean and acceptable). Shout out to Dave for having us as our guest at his cabin.

Dave was a wonderful host! Our car got stuck before even the 2 wheel drive parking space because the car was too low. Dave helped us find a spot and drove us and our luggage to/from the cabin for check in and check out. Dave also thoughtfully provided lots of little things that make it easier to stay in a dry cabin if you never have before. Things like nice toilet paper, dish soap, a coffee maker.The views were incredible!

Denali stay

Secluded rustic cabin

The stay was amazing! We hiked to the lake on the property and saw three moose and felt like we were in actual Alaskan wilderness. The place was clean and had plenty of water in jugs for washing up and drinking

The place was exactly as listed. The loft beds were comfortable, an extra fan for cooling and electric heater if needed. Friendly kind host! Great location to Denali Park.

great spot to experience alaska

This cabin was truly an Alaskan experience. The road up to the property is a bit rough but it’s worth it to see the views at the top! Cabin was cozy and you can tell the host put a lot of work into making it nice.

Quaint tiny home

The house was comfy. It’s very basic. The drive up was fun with 4 wheel drive an absolute necessity. Dave was very accommodating as I came in by mistake a day early. Denali is very close by. I saw the mountain:) Thanks again

A perfect cabin!

As soon as we arrived, we knew that we should have planned to stay longer. The cabin was perfect--comfortable while still feeling a bit wild. The property was gorgeous, with a picturesque lake a short distance away. Dave was excellent to communicate with, being super helpful when we had questions and then giving us our space otherwise. If I ever go back to Alaska, I'd try to book here for the duration of my stay!

Denali area

Four wheel drive is pretty much a must if you want to drive your vehicle to the doorstep of the cabin w/ your luggage. Or it’s probably a 15 min. hike. We didn’t have that but Dave was super helpful in arranging a pickup w/ our gear. He gave us a ride up, & ride down to our vehicle the next morning. Rustic, but super quiet relaxing stay!

Enveloped in a Devine creation painted upon an all encompassing canvas….

Have you ever felt a special moment in time generated purely by breathing fresh air, and watching the seemingly random movement of the black spruce, and the delicate flutter of the aspen leaves, and the contrasting highlights of birch bark? Well… hang on to your hat. This is a great place to stay, as well as have access to anything or experience that you need to make for an incredible adventure. Dave will make you feel comfortable and leave you to make your experience what you wish it to be. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thanks Dave!

Nestled at the peak of a mountain, just six miles from Healy, the cabin offers breathtaking views. On clear days, the majestic Denali is visible right from the cabin. My wife and I came here for our Honeymoon. The listing was exactly as described- a secluded cabin with the essentials for survival. It was always warm, and the cell service, while middling, was perfectly adequate. It was clean, with no critters, and the twin beds were comfortable. I’m 6’3 and my wife 5’10, so our feet did stick off the edges a little and bump the roof in places, but with some maneuvering you can make it work. The only cooking implement was a microwave, so we purchased a hot plate in Anchorage along with a mixing bowl and cooking pot, and left them there at the cabin (they may remain for future guests, I would ask).The road was difficult to find, but the host gave a very good description on how to find it. AWD or 4WD vehicle required for a steep (45 degree plus) road. We went in Late September, so the only snow we experienced was on our checkout day. That drive/slide down the mountain was not one I’m eager to repeat, so make sure you check the weather and plan your parking accordingly. As described, there is no plumbing, but the outhouse was clean and had plenty of toilet paper and hand sanitizer.Its location is gorgeous, beautiful views on a clear day. 20-30 minutes north of Denali National Park. Showers and laundry are available in Healy, 5-10 minutes South. We had a wonderful time.P.S. The twin beds in the loft are in an L shape and cannot be moved together.

This was such a cute cabin. Very secluded up on the top of a ridge (Daltons Ridge). There is a turn off for a different set of cabins, keep going up! The driveway is intimidating and steep… however we have a AWD Honda CRV, and as long as you keep going quickly up and dont stop, it was fine. It even made it up the driveway in the pouring rain. Once you get up there, its worth it. The cabin is cozy. Bring your own food if you want to… there is a microwave, no stove or grill. There is a fridge. There is spotty wifi… but honestly i got the best service in the outhouse lol! The walk to the lake is more like 30 mins, but totally worth it. In the morning right around dawn i got up to use the outhouse, and there was a cow and calf moose walking around grazing in the woods, and by early morning they had actually both bedded down in the clearing next to our cabin! The views of the mountains were really good. The loft is a little cramped with the 2 beds… but it wasnt horrible. I almost think one of the beds could probably go downstairs and there would be better room… but as long as you make sure not to bump your head on the ceiling at night, you’ll be fine. The loft stays nice and warm, we didnt turn the heat up past 66, and even at that i woke up sweating. Dave said that if we wernt able to make it up the hill with the car he would come down and get us with his side by side, so just chat with him about that before hand if you only have a 2wd, he seems super accommodating.

The beds were warm and comfortable, making for a cozy stay. While the data connection wasn’t perfect, it handled video and phone calls well enough. A grocery store just a short distance away offered a great selection of fresh vegetables. The cabin was also conveniently located—just a 30-minute drive to the Denali Bus Depot. Given everything it offered, it was well worth the price we paid. We couldn’t have made a better choice!
