"We had a late check in (out of staffed hours) and it could not have been easier. We made contact to make sure it was ok, on arrival we got access and our room key with no fuss. Located the room and it was all very fresh feeling and lovely. It being one of the hottest nights of the year and there no built in aircon (welcome to England), but the fan kept us cool and the whole set up was really good. Check out was very simple too."

"Brandon Lodge is on the outskirts of Hereford. We travelled without a car and got off the 33 bus from Gloucester only 2 minutes' walk from the Lodge. We mainly walked in and out of the city, about 30 minutes each way, with no problem. Once we booked a taxi, also no problem, and when we left we took the 33 bus again, but the buses are infrequent. Everything at Brandon Lodge was good, including the availability of coffee bags in the room and fresh milk on request. Breakfast are variations on the Full English, plus continental options, all good quality and well-served. Our room was comfortable, in the single-storey extension with a covered walkway into the main house. Would happily stay again if arriving by car or bus, but might opt for somewhere more central if arriving by train."

"Hotel is in a great location - just over 15 minute walk to the train station, close to shops and the Cathedral - looks like the downstairs has been elegantly renovated. Beautiful newly-refurbished bedroom, with some really thoughtful extra touches - such as a rubber bathmat and handrail, electric fan, suitcase stand, and biscuits every day with the tea and coffee. I liked being able to open the window. Some of the staff seemed less friendly and professional than one would expect - however, generally the staff were o.k. and two of the younger reception staff (a young man and young woman), both with dark hair, were both pleasant and helpful. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel, as there were plenty of cafes and Bill's Kitchen (in All Saints Church) in the same street and close by."

"Hidden gem. Excellent value accommodation with large bedroom and bathroom featuring quality fittings aligning with the period house. We had a delightful hot breakfast with a great selection of freshly prepared ingredients. Pleasant garden surroundings great to walk around and explore. Ample on-site parking too. Staff were very accommodating. Unfortunately due to our UK travel plans we could only stay for 1 night. Located close to a nice country pub within walking distance having great family facilities too."
