NEW to VRBO!
Welcome to The River Hutch, an outdoor/adventure lover's paradise!
The River Hutch is located on 10 private acres with ample Pine River frontage. This 3 Bedroom 2 Bathroom cottage is paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. You will enjoy daily sightings of deer, bald eagles, and river otters, all while surrounded by towering birch, cedars, and pines. Many new furnishings have been added as well as new LVP flooring through much of the home.
The Pine River offers excellent fishing right from the bank or dock. If fishing isn't for you, settle into one of the provided kayaks right at the dock and paddle down the slow-moving river out to Lake Huron.
Trail riders can bring their ATVs/Snowmobiles and hit the trails right from the cottage or trailer to one of many nearby trail heads. There is plenty of space for trailer parking and super-easy turn around.
The cottage is conveniently located near all of the U.P.'s many sightseeing adventures such as, Mackinac Island (about 15 minute drive to the ferry dock), Les Cheneaux Islands (10 minutes), De Tour Village and Drummond Island (45 minutes), Pictured Rocks, Kitch-iti-kipi Springs, Whitefish Point, Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum and many amazing hiking/ATV/Snowmobile trails! Also, everything you need for groceries, shopping, and restaurants can be found in St. Ignace just 15 minutes from the cottage.
When you are done exploring, relax, and unwind while enjoying the views from one of the spacious decks as you sip your favorite beverage and enjoy the sound of nature.

What a great place!
My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a great location for all of our UP adventures. Communication with the hosts was outstanding, and we loved the property. Plenty of room for all of us with a great view. :-)
The home was the perfect size for our family! My grandparents enjoyed having their own space in the lower level. The nature was so fun to watch every day. It was cozy enough that we decided to spend our last day in the UP at the house rather than traveling.

Secluded Winter Getaway
Our stay at the River Hutch was wonderful. It was a clean and cared for house, the perfect winter weekend getaway for our small family. We had originally planned to snowmobile and picked this rental for its proximity to the trail. We didn’t end up being able to trailer our sleds, but can confirm this property is right by the trails - we hope to return another winter!
Our young daughter had so much fun playing with the tic tac toe board and playing outside in the snow, especially looking for animal prints! The windows at the property are amazing and we had gorgeous snow globe views the entire stay. The beds were comfy and the showers were great. Highly recommend a stay here.
Upon arriving to The River Hutch, you are greeted with a private driveway with a gorgeous landscape of birch trees and a charming cabin seated on roughly 10 acres off of the edge of the Pine River.
This was by far one of the most relaxing stays we’ve had. The whole family and even our German Shepard dog Gus felt at home right away.
This was the ideal stay as it had plenty of space and amenities as well as a boat launch, kayaks, back patio overlooking the river and a fire pit.
The rooms were spacious and even had 2 bathrooms which was ideal for larger families. The overall look was modern with a quaint and charm that can only be described by experiencing it for yourself.
We recommend to anyone looking for peace and quiet with all the comforts of home. We will definitely be coming back!
Waking up here for a week was wonderful! This stay checked a lot of boxes for us and was a great place for us to get out and explore a large portion of the U.P.
The wonderful back porch and patio areas are the highlight of this property, with the gorgeous Pine River and a busy beaver to watch, the mornings here were wonderful.
This property offers a lot of amenities, including handsoap, some sample toiletries, and linens. I was a bit surprised there wasn't any dishsoap, but being inexpensive and we were going up to Sault Sainte Marie to grocery shop anyways, it wasn't a big deal.
The house was pretty clean considering it can house so many people and the occasional pet. I did not find any stray hairs or dirt, but did take some pictures of things, like a bedroom door, to not incur any additional fees.
The host just started using a new management system for their listing, so I did receive quick communication from Michelle on what email to look for in order to finalize payment. She also answered my questions very quickly and was quite pleasant to work with.
Overall, we loved staying here and would definitely stay here again!
Hosts were friendly and easy to work with Updated kitchen was very nice Great views

Perfect for our short stay!
We had decided to partake in the Mackinac Bridge tractor ride so we needed a place for all of us to stay last minute. This worked great and was just off of 75 for a quick trip back down to St. Ignace. Highly recommend for a little weekend getaway!
Check in was easy breezy and the kitchen had everything we needed! It was unusually hot outside so the cabin was a bit warm but the host dropped off portable air conditioners for us in a matter of hours. Beautiful scenery and comfortable beds. I would highly recommend!
It rained our 2 nights here so we only could use indoor features. We didn't find any of the furniture comfortable and had to go out and buy pillows as the ones provided were very flat and stiff. Also to note for anyone with mobility issues, the steps to get to the front door and indoor steps (house is a split level) are pretty steep. Views of the river were nice and liked the fairly isolated location.
House was very clean and nice, great location on the river and central to many different things we wanted to do. Lots of space, beautiful large deck for sitting out.

Piece of heaven
This was truly one of the most relaxed trips I've been on. Not only the beautiful view from the deck, but the house was beautiful, clean and tucked away from the outside world. If I could give 10 stars I would. Will definitely be returning. Thanks to Michelle for the wonderful stay
The house was beautiful, very clean, and the bathrooms were spotless — a lovely setting for our family trip. The biggest issue was the kitchen setup. All of the plates and cups were plastic, and every plate had visible knife cut marks from past guests. This felt unsanitary, as bacteria can collect in those grooves. One plate even warped in the microwave. The cups being plastic was also disappointing, as they’re not ideal for everyday use and can contain harmful chemicals. On top of that, the kitchen was missing some basic cookware and utensils, which made meal preparation more difficult. For such a nice home, higher-quality and fully stocked kitchenware would have been expected.Other concerns: We asked about early check-in but never got an update, even though the owners knew we were traveling with small children. Check-out was at 10am, which felt early for a family stay. We were given until 11am and left the house on time, but as we were in the parking area getting our autistic child into the car, we received repeated messages asking us to leave the property entirely. The owner even mentioned they might charge extra for the cleaner because they claimed the cleaner wouldn’t go inside until we were off the property. However, we saw the cleaner arrive and even waved to them while we were outside. This could have been handled with more understanding.Overall, the home itself is lovely, but the lack of proper kitchenware and the rigid, overly strict communication at check-out
