100% recommend The Waiting Room. Peaceful location with great walks from cottage. Very clean and comfortable with everything needed for a great weeks stay. Recommend the village cafe (so friendly with great breakfast/cakes) and Pub (The BlackCock). If in area again would definitely stay at The Waiting Room possibly for two weeks instead of one.

Stunning location surrounded by scenery awash with wildlife.
Stunning location surrounded by scenery awash with wildlife. Very quiet and relaxing in a beautiful property. The local pub, The Blackcock Inn serves delicious food and has a friendly atmosphere, but is closed Monday and Tuesday. The Pheasant Inn is an excellent alternative. Kielder Water Park is visible from the cottage and there is a pleasant village circular walk which starts 200yards from the cottage. There is an abundance of activities in the area and the cottage offers a tranquil refuge after hiking through the neighbouring hills. Perfect in every way. Thoroughly recommend this and with the resident telescope piques the curiosity of all. The dark sky designation is definitely an added attraction.
