Great location (5 minutes to Main St and on a creek connected to Lake Sequoyah) with a pretty view of the creek from the porch. House was clean and comfortable, though a little colder than the thermostat said.
The cabin is gorgeous, had everything we needed for a 3 night stay and is 2 miles from downtown higlands. The deck and dock looking out to the water is awesome to have to relax.
Great property for 5 adults. Close to town. Easy access in/out property. Plenty of parking. Quiet off season cabin. Wrap around porch is fantastic! House # or Callie’s Cabin sign would be helpful at bottom of Azalea Drive to easily identify property. Fire pit was ideal - bring your own wood, lighter. Lots of natural kindling around the grounds. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds and linens.
We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at Callie’s for my 50th birthday celebration! The home is conveniently located close to Highlands’ downtown area and local waterfalls. I would recommend making certain that older guests know the stairs to the second level are somewhat treacherous and the basement is not a place I would recommend tenants be asked to bring towels to. Other than those two minor suggestions the place is perfect and we enjoyed the porches, fire pit and lovely scenery in which to sip wine or coffee! The property manager kept in constant contact and even turned all the lamps and television on in anticipation of our arrival. We would definitely return and stay with them again.
The cabin was lovely, super clean, and comfortable. Location provides the mountain atmosphere with town only a mile away. Only complaint was the entire cabin only had one tv.
The cabin was comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. The location is convenient to the main highway and very close to On the Verandah restaurant. It was was about a 5-10 minute drive to main st. shopping area. The layout of the master bed/ bath downstairs is odd because you have to go through the very small bathroom to get in or out of the bedroom. Once we got used to that, it was the perfect cabin for us.
Property was just short drive outside of town , walking distance from small lake. This property only lacked a kayak for the lake. The house was equipped with all essentials. Enjoyed porches and firepit. Is not secluded there are other friendly cabins all around. :)
Accurate listing with nice amenities and location.

A lot of the problem was just that the property was misrepresented. The house was ok, but be aware that you're in a neighborhood surrounded by other houses. There is no privacy. The "creek" that the house is on is actually lake sequoya by a bridge on a highway and off of the main road. In addition, the house wasn't clean and the dining room table had a fist size hole in the wicker. The bathroom was about the size of a broom closet.
Overall this property was a very serious disappointment and I wouldn't recommend staying here, but If you're looking for a house 5 minutes from town then yes maybe I'd suggest it.
The property was a great getaway for my wife, son, and I to meet with my parents to celebrate my Fathers 65th birthday. The house is a great hidden gem right outside of highlands. with the current Covid restrictions and having a couple of high risk family members, this gave us some peace of mind while still being able to enjoys some vacation time. I would highly suggest this house (Callie's Cabin) to anyone and everyone looking for a great and quant mountains retreat. This house is pet friendly as well so that's a plus too!
Great cabin in a great location. The lights were on as well as the heat even though we checked in late. Easy check in and out. Nieghbors at the other cabins were very friendly. Kids enjoyed sleding down the step road beside the property with snow on it.
Great property. Very pretty and clean. Great proximity to town center and several waterfalls/hiking areas. Only negatives were location is actually close to the main road, so you can hear traffic when sitting on the front porch. Only other thing was a small cleanliness problem in one of the bedrooms. We felt like it was just an oversight from the cleaning staff though. Recommend this property!
This trip was a last minute plan and we were very grateful to have been able to reserve Callie’s Cabin for 8 nights. At first we were a bit concerned that there were no reviews due to it just being placed up for rental. It’s always good to read others reviews to be aware of what to expect. We are so glad we took the chance. Picking up the key at Management Company was easy and very close to the Cabin. We did experience a minor setback on our early check in due to an electrical issue upstairs, but was handled very quickly by the electricians before the original check in time.
The Cabin was found very organized and clean. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to make a nice meal. The overall set up and space was great except for the fact that the master bedroom which is downstairs is accessed through the master bathroom so that was inconvenient at times. The rooms had plenty of storage space and the beds were comfortable. The wrap around porch has a beautiful view to the creek and is awesome to sit and drink some hot coffee in the mornings. The other unfortunate thing about the cabin is that it does not have a fireplace. That would have been awesome for the cold rainy nights we experienced. However, that would not stop us from renting again as the temperature in the cabin with the heater was very comfortable.
Callie’s Cabin is just minutes away from shops, restaurants, and entertainment. I was a bit disappointed on how many shops and restaurants were closed this week, but given it was New Years it’s understandable. This small town is very quiet and peaceful and so close to so many fun things to do like tubbing, ZIP lining, ice skating, water falls and mountain hikes. If you travel with pets we found two dog parks you can take them to. We would definitely be back to visit.
