There's a layout problem that every group eventually runs into — too many people for a normal rental, not enough privacy for everyone to actually enjoy themselves. This home solves it quietly and elegantly: three bedrooms and two bathrooms on one open, comfortable main level, plus a completely separate studio suite with its own entrance, queen bed, ensuite bath, and pull-out sofa tucked below.
Two families who want to share a trip but not a hallway. A group of couples where one pair goes to bed early and one doesn't. Grandparents who need their own space. In-laws. The friend who snores. The studio handles all of it without anyone having to negotiate.
The Main Level Gets the Fundamentals Right - Open-concept living, dining, and kitchen spaces flow into each other the way they should — generous, connected, and easy to be in whether the whole group is cooking together or scattered across the couch with books and bad television. A wood-burning fireplace anchors the living room with the kind of warmth that makes staying in feel like the right call even when the weather is perfect outside. The king primary bedroom is exactly what the name implies. The two queen guest rooms share a hallway bath and give the rest of the group comfortable, well-appointed places to land at the end of the day.
The Studio is the Secret Weapon - Separate entrance. Queen bed. Private ensuite. Pull-out sofa for overflow. The studio isn't an afterthought tucked under the stairs — it's a fully functional fourth bedroom that gives whoever stays there genuine independence from the main house. Come and go as you please. Keep your own hours. Join the group when you want to, disappear when you don't. It's the kind of flexibility that turns a good group trip into a great one.
Outside: Screened Porch, Firepit, Fenced Yard The screened porch does the heavy lifting for outdoor entertaining — large dining table, comfortable seating, a television, and enough shelter to make al fresco meals the easy default regardless of what the mountain weather decides to do. When evening settles in, the firepit draws everyone out for the part of the trip that tends to generate the best stories. And the fenced yard means the dog didn't have to stay home — let them run while the humans claim their chairs around the fire.
This is the kind of home where the dog ends up being everyone's favorite part of the trip. The humans are a close second.
