"The visitors' book indicates that lots of people return to this property again and again and you can see why. It is at an idyllic location on the River Avon and we spent a happy day just sitting and watching the world and the wildlife (lucky enough to see a kingfisher) go by which was very peaceful. The property is very well equipped. It is next door to a pub and a restaurant and opposite various takeaways and is in a good location for lots of nearby towns to visit. We will aim to return at a different time of the year."

"My wife and I stayed at Ridgeway Farmhouse with adult children and young grandchildren. It is very well located and easy to find. Close to Alcester, good pubs and a great Farm Shop (Hilliers). Lovely views to the east, overlooking the valley down to Ragley Hall. Large grassy garden area which was ideal for our granddaughter to play, kick a ball, etc. Very comfortable inside and flooded with natural light through big glass windows and patio doors. We would definitely recommend a stay here."

"We spent three nights a year and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was incredibly hot and we found the nights quite uncomfortable, despite the addition of some tall fans, I guess this is slightly beyond your control? I believe due to the fact that there are floor to ceiling bifold doors in full sunshine from afternoon to evening the property becomes incredibly hot. As there are no windows other than the doors in the bedroom, it was hard to get a through draft at night time. Despite this, we love the property, the privacy of the garden and the hot tub was an added bonus. (I’m unsure as to how regularly the hot tub is emptied as there was pink nail varnish and quite a bit of grit in it? ) We had everything we needed, it might be nice to include a bag of charcoal? The bed was comfortable, as was the rest of the accommodation. We felt that the crockery/glasses, were barely enough and the bedding looked like it needed to be ironed. These are just some minor points which I feel would make the accommodation 10/10, as opposed to 9/10… The correspondence from the hosts was great, we did raise one slight issue, about their being lots of ants in the kitchen which we were not able to control with the spray left. We stay in many rental properties and little touches, like a welcome pack of basic foods goes a long way!"

"Spacious and characterful house with a lovely riverside view. Well equipped and furnished. Couple of things to note: the property is in a boat yard, so the approach isn't grand, but once inside it's very nice and the garden is a cool spot in a heatwave. This stretch of river is popular as a cooling off spot for families so on weekends so can be noisy. Bidford-on-Avon is nothing special but there are plenty of nice places nearby. The over-bath shower on the first floor is barely useable - there's no thermostatic control so when someone uses a tap you get scalded, and the water pressure is so high it's like being blasted by water cannon! Also the TV signal can be terrible. We were looking forward to watching the World Cup and the Wimbledon finals but had to resort to using our laptop. This really should be rectified or flagged up. One final point: anyone with mobility issues will struggle to get the most out of this property."
