"Novotel Thakhir is clean suitable for stay, however, the transportation system needs significant improvement. Getting into the bus from Ghaza bus station is a nightmare and most of the time the bus is filled with people who are not the guest of Novotel and as a customer we cannot do the police job of sorting out people! I hope there will be a trail for walk to Haram so that guests can just walk down the hill! The distance is not that FAR! "

"I stayed 9 nights here...the location is decent as it's around 10-15 minutes in the car. However, this hotel is plagued with problems. PS. One of the staff members (housekeeping) insisted on leaving a review for the hotel so here goes... Staff and Hotel: - Limited English spoken by receptionist and most staff - Restaurant and other facilities are not actually available, but advertised - Staff lounging about in corridors playing music, having loud conversations when guests are in their rooms (they should use a separate staff break-out area to have their breaks). - Reception are very slow to respond (most of the time) Guests: - Most are uncouth and extremely impolite. On more than one occasion, guests were banging on my door thinking I was someone else (I guess they were just going around banging on all the doors until they found their friend). - The lifts are mostly filled up straightaway after prayers, and there's usually shouting in the hallway from guests who don't know how to behave. The hotel must take responsibility for this and manage guests more effectively. Shuttle Bus Service: - It can take a good 1 hour to catch a shuttle bus back to the hotel after Isha. Lots of locals are randomly jumping on the shuttle bus and it's absolute chaos. Guests at the hotel are kept waiting for the next one, or you can settle for being squashed like a pancake in the existing shuttle bus. - The drivers are incredibly rude and uncouth. Terrible manners who treat guests like cattle."

"Avoid this place at all costs, staff members are rude and unwelcoming. The property is dirty and smelly, moreover the hotel doesn't offer shuttles on weekend and location isn't great if you want to go to the Haram. We asked the only staff who spoke English for a tips on transportation to Madinah, and he tried to dupe us with an extravagant fee. We finally found on our own how to book a mini van to Madinah. I don't recommend this place and I am even surprised Expedia is avertising such a thing, I have to put one star but in my opinion they don't even deserve a single one."

"Everything about this hotel was amazing. All the staff were nice and the cleaners were good at their job. It’s just the distance to haram that was a bit far but there was a shuttle bus available. I noticed that sometimes the bus might not be available at peak hours but otherwise everything about this hotel was perfect👍"
